Leakage!
« on: 12 April 2009, 01:40:13 »

Hi guys.

While checking my radiator for leaks (the onboard computer showed low coolant level once), i found that there are 2 aluminium tubes going in the radiator - one at the top, and the other one at the bottom.

The upper one seems to be losing some kind of oil. Any ideas about what this oil is? Is there a way for me to top up the oil again once i have the leak repaired?

Awaiting your ideas and advice.

Thanks

I am guessing you have an auto gearbox.

If so then these sound likethe gearbox cooler pipes.

First thing to do is a simple check that the banjo botls holding them are tight (dont over tighten them) so just nip them up.

To check the gearbox oil level, look in the maintenance guides for auto box level check  :y

You are right Mark!  :y I am using an auto box. Just nipped the banjo bolts, and now, everything's fine - no more leakage. I'll surely check out the auto box oil level either from the website or in the Haynes manual ...

Thanks again  :y :y :y
