General Car Chat / Records
« on: 05 August 2023, 08:54:13 »
Alan Millyard and Henry Cole have recently set not on but two world records on Millyards Viper V10 engined bike. The bike weighs 1200lbs or 1322lbs[depending on source you're looking at] of which 700lbs is the engine.First record is for fastest bike two up which they set at 183.5mph after a run of 1.25 miles the second record which they set along the way to the first one was for fastest standing mile which they set at 178.6mph.The bike apparently does 0-62 in 2.7secs and the standing mile in 9.5secs[presumably solo]and riding solo Millyard has had it up to 207mph.

While she did take a while to find her purse she paid in cash but decided that to make it "easier" for the assistant she could make the loose change so spent ages taking coins out then putting them back three or four times counting the amount each time before admitting defeat and declaring she couldn't make the loose change after all.At least she moved away from the till to pack her shopping!

Middle aged woman who after unloading her shopping from the trolley onto conveyor belt at the supermarket checkout then buggered back off up the aisles to get more stuff thereby delaying everyone else in the queue >:(

It's quite amazing[or perhaps these days it isn't]how many people don't seem to get the idea of average speed cameras.

On the very rare occasions when the house phone rings I let it run to the answering machine, then if it's important they'll leave a message if they don't then who cares? It's more or less the same with my mobile,if the number isn't recognized by the phones memory I don't answer it and again if it's important they can either leave a message on voicemail or send me a text message. It avoids all these people trying to sell me something I don't want/get me to claim for the diesel car I've never owned etc.

Passport expired 2016 and I didn't bother renewing it as I've no intention of going abroad again,so definitely a new photo required.
Opti you must be correct about me being old and befuddled as for the life of me I can't figure out which of the two pedals fitted to the Omega is the middle one you refer to :D :D

Thanks for that Stemo. I could have sworn I'd heard or read somewhere quite a few years ago that a doctors certificate was needed once you hit 70,obviously that's something I must have mis-remembered.
