Mine is still looking ok from its wash the other day. it also had 2 new rear tyres as well. and today I drove to Lincoln to collect something I bought on ebay….
Tesco has been the cheapest again this year for me. but I obviously needed to cancel the previous policy as they wanted to put the price up despite no claims being made by me.
I have thought about fitting a 3.0/3.2 or better still a V8 to my car as i miss the extra grunt that my previous 3.2 had. because even half decent 3.2 estates are rather thin on the ground.
When I changed the shocks on my x reg one the metalwork was solid so I greased them up for good measure. trouble was a Frenchman in a mokka slammed into the side of the car writing it off .
After coming back from Liverpool yesterday literally at the end of the road a warning light came on and when I checked the codes I got an 0135 brilliant more money to spend on the damn thing .
Just before I lifted the bonnet to change the shredded tensioner I noticed the boot light was not working?. so I checked and found out the battery was completely dead after 4 days of sitting idle due to the fact it couldn't be driven. now the battery is about 6 months old and I drove over 200 miles on the Thursday so I would have thought there would be a good charge in said battery and the alternator obviously works otherwise it wouldn't have gone at all. bloody cars eh..
Went on another long drive yesterday (Thursday) and when I got back I realised the awful noise from under the bonnet was the aux belt tensioner... it finally let go today after a short journey and is completely shredded. and i'll have to wait until next week before I can fix it..
Despite trying to avoid yet another pratt on the road he still managed to drive away again just like the last prick after stuffing the nearside wing in. so now i have yet more bloody work to do.
Mine doesn't do that off the key. but when you open it remember to move your face out of the way because it will slap you under the chin thanks to the new struts I put on it.
The 1st was a 2.6 CDX saloon in silver in which the engine died. 2nd was a 2.5 elite saloon also silver which was written off by a Frenchman in a rental mokka. 3rd was a 2.2 manual GLS estate in nocturno blue which I sold to a banger racer unfortunately. 4th was a 3.2 elite estate in nocturno blue which was vandalised by druggies several times but now lives in Bristol. 5th was a 2.5 elite estate in a weird sort of reddish brown which was sold to someone who probably dismantled it or raced it. and the current one is familiar to several people on here too and which has been hit by an Asian in a Vectra who drove off and as also had one of the doors kicked in (druggies again). but is now ok again.
The plug wells on mine were full of oil on the offside and the nearside had some water too. due to the fact the plugs hadn't been touched for quite a while before I bought it if I had not bothered to check when I did I doubt that one of the plugs would have been able to be removed before much longer due to the rotten state of it.
I don't suppose anyone has a glovebox handle in beige or whatever the colour it might be for my car as it finally gave up yesterday and now I cant even close the thing up at all.
