Well its that time of year again, the ill fated celebration of  England's National Flag.

Me, I'm taking the day off on Friday with some mates and going down to the Fullers Brewery in Chiswick for the day, a few hours getting shown arround the place and then down to the good part of sampling the delights!, should be a good day out me thinks.  :y

See our two local Wetherpubs arn't bothering again, despite doing something for St Patrick's Day and St Andrews, upsets too many people apparently  >:( >:( >:(, but nice to see our local Asian Shop with the flag in the window  :D.

What you up to?, celebrating?

Chris.

ps. anyone that fancies flying the flag, feel free to use mine:-  :y

General Discussion Area / Taxi Service - Hidden Text charges
« on: 30 March 2010, 10:19:43 »
One of my local Taxi services has started using a new Dispatcher System, book the Cab as normal you then get a Text Message stating Car Type and Colour and approximate arrival time, then another text saying the Cab is waiting outside your location for you, Brilliant you think!

Not!, just got my Vodafone Bill, Im getting charged 50p per message, took a while to work out was going on, till I started collating the Text charges against my Calls  >:(.

Spoke to Vodafone, the Vodagirl saying nothing she can do as they should have told me about their Text costs or by using their Services I must have agreed to their Terms.

Just spoke to the Cab Co and the Girls saying she knows nothing about this and will get back to me.

Think I know where this is going!!  >:(

General Discussion Area / Vista Folder Help
« on: 28 January 2010, 13:59:21 »
Either Im doing something wrong here, sure its an option.

Trying to sort through a load of old Data Base files (Access) and trying to list the folder contents of them in 'Date Created' view, Vista only seems to let me view them as 'Date Modified'.

I know with XP you can change folder Details under View with add / remove options. Cant seem to find this within Vista. Really dont want to turn the whole system back to Classic Mode if that makes sense.

Any herlp?

Chris.

Well what should have been a smooth trip to Hong Kong turned into a balls aching nightmare. Simple really, Heathrow to Frankfurt then 1 and a half hour at Frankfurt then off to Hong Kong.

The only problem was is my London departure was on the morning after 21st Dec, you know the one where we had 1” of the wrong type of snow for the wrong type of road and the whole Country comes to a stand still. Anyway still confident, I arrived at Heathrow in time only to be told, my flight would be delayed up to 1 hour, so asked the question will I make my connecting flight from Frankfurt, yea you be fine, the whole of Europe’s been delayed they said.

So having arrived at Frankfurt, I start running around like a headless chicken at the  Airport for my next flight, it soon become apparent that my Hong Kong flight had already gone on time, you what the Germans are like, trains run on time and all that sort of thing (and they had a lot more snow than us).

So as my flight was booked as one, Lufthansa decided to put me up in a 5 star Hotel, and pay for Taxis and Meals etc, which was good of them but no Luggage though that was locked up in their system. So reporting back the next day I was told, no more direct flights to Hong Kong this side of Christmas, all booked. So plan D was send me off to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a short wait, then off to Doha, Qatar with a longer break, then change Airline from Doha to Hong Kong.

Arrived at Hong Kong, Christmas Eve I was told, not really knowing what day of the week it was and a bit smelly by now, only to find out at the Airport some tinkers lost my luggage on the way.

So, so far I’ve had 5 Day’s in Hong Kong, still no luggage and only with clothes I was wearing at Heathrow plus some essential stuff I’ve bought in Hong Kong to keep me going, Suppose to be off to Thailand tomorrow, I just hope this trip isn’t jinxed, I’ve got another 2 weeks to go before I return!

Chris.

By the way what’s the weather like over there?  :y
