Removed the filthy steering rack sub-frame from my old Rover 216gsi (1990).

Attacked it with my trusty Black and Decker power file and a wire cup in my angle grinder.

As usual with this 31 year old car, a number of rust holes have appeared so out with the welder!!!

Paint will go on tomorrow. That's another job done  :y
Must be the only part of the country where it hasn't hissed it down all day. Unless, of course, you have an indoor workshop.

It's been dry all day here and quite sunny too:y

Same here, been a nice day.  :y

Nothing. Went for a walk with swmbo and on the way back found a short 3/8 socket extension bar with SNAP ON etched along the top, lying at the side of the road.
A more than suitable replacement for my knackered Halfords one.  :)

Are you sure that your "walk" wasn't across some poor buggers drive?  ;)

I miss my old 1990 216GSi.  The only fault I could gripe with it was lack of power steering.  I think only the autos had PS as standard.

Also, on mine, 3rd gear was a bit whiny. But then it was the only gear I used, as it was good from about 20 - 115mph, and the Honda lump in mine did like to rev.

Yeah, yeah.  But only around your neck of the woods do you see a VW Golf park on a wall.

Needed a fuel receipt ready for my next trip to pay for London layabouts to have even more money spent on them, and the Battlebus didn't have much.

So took it to fill up, only with only half a glow plug, it was a bit shitty starting, rather predictably.  But as ever, it did start, and got its fuel.

Now its plugged in the mains getting all the electricity put back in it ;D

Incidentally, that last tank was 29.9mpg.  Thats pretty shite from a 2l soot chucker ;D
