Hey all.
I replaced my cam gaskets and fuel pressure gauge now its running rough.  Its shaking at idle and the check engine light is on.  What am i missing?  I should have all the hoses for the vacuum right, i did follow the diagrams but what?!?!?  Arrrrgggghhh  I want to fix asap it sucks driving a oldsmobile.

In the UK I think we would done a paperclip test to see what error codes flashed up don't know if you
can do that on your car??

Other than that - air leak?

If it was ok before then i would suspect airleak......did you change all the o-rings on the plenum etc...?

sounds like a silly question but have you trapped the crank sensor under the LH cam cover on reassembly?
i did this on mine and it ran like a pig, if the check light is on try the paperclip test as mentioned

First clues will be gained from reading the codes.

I'm not sure exactly what engine is in your car, EG DBW or cable - but I would check the following:

1) Plug leads not in order - especially 4 and 6 on the 2-4-6 bank. Two plug leads crossed will definately cause this problem, and it's easy done when doing camcovers.

2) ICv seated correctly, and cable plugged in

3) Main vacc pipe from servo securely in at the plenum end?

4) Plenum O rings all seated ok?

5) all breather hoese on the plenum and connected to the other ends?

When I did my cam cover gaskets and reassembled I got a misfire which was due to having dislodged one of the HT leads at the DIS pack end.   Worth a look.

I also recall there were a couple of vacuum hoses at the rear which it would be easy to mix up on reassembly. (one to fuel rail, other to rear multiram).  Not sure what the symptoms of swapping these would be.
