Aluminium style supplied by Sparks ?? I think has long ceased but you can get resin type off the bay of fleas.Quality isn't great though as they require some fettling to get the body to fit and move smoothly along with the need to re-tap the threaded end.

If using resin stylee, a good lubrication with silicone spray helps, and silicone grease.

I found their website here and ordered with PayPal. The adjusters are listed on the left below the BMW bits. Haven't had an acknowledgement yet, but it is the weekend.

Phoned today and discovered that the person who made the up sadly passed away a couple of years back.  :'(

The chap I spoke to said he'd passed the drawings on to someone in Norway(?).

Anyway, I'm back to square one. Will cancel the PayPal as the person I spoke to cannot access the account.

All seems a frightful hassle and I think it may be worth my while just getting new headlights. Time is money as they say.

Anyone reckon these would be any good? ???

PM  & ask Serek about the adjusters. . .  he may some "resin" type ones . I seem to recall he was getting supplied from Poland  with these  :-\   worth a try rather than buying new headlights ;)

Do these look good to anyone?  :-\

those look like the ones with rounded corners (the lens at he bottom closest to the grill) so not for facelift ??  :-\

reason I looked (and you can't see the corners due to the way they hide them in the photo) is because i ordered a pair off Nigel @ omega52 , fitted , all working  :)
then Mrs builder (who knows sod all about cars ) pointed out that one had a rounded corner, not matching the original  :'(
so i've just refurbished the original with 800,1200,1500,2000 wet n dry and t-cut

Ah. I didn't spot the rounded corners. Mrs builder has a keen eye!  ;) ;D

As you can see form the other posts, I have now sourced some adjusters, so will try to repair the existing lights.

Choosing replacement lights isn't rocket science. Simply choose 2001 for facelift and 93-97/97-99 for pre/mid as appropriate. Facelift only come in two flavours, xenon and not, and at a glance look similar, so shop carefully.

The ones in that link are actually facelift, the bulk of the 'extra' corner is cosmetic rather than functional.

Is it your own work?

Was just thinking of, once proved, printing a few for OOF Shop to help swell the coffers a bit.  Don't want to get into copyright/legal issues, as I've managed to avoid online lawers for 3 or 4 years now ;D

I copied the critical dimensions from an aluminium one, and tidied various parts to make them easier to draw:

I still think that the supplier of the resin ones had the right idea for making more than a couple of parts. Especially if you intend to make a profit.

I think for printed parts, you might have to add an insert for an M3/M4 nut, as I reckon the thread will strip too easily...

...if Serek already has a product that he's selling, I will leave to him, as he has a business to run.

That said, Nick W, if you can send me yours either in original F360 or exported as an STL, I might print one just to see how it comes out

The original will be of more use, but I don't see any way of attaching it to a PM.

I do have an original adjuster that's cracked, but in one piece if that's any use to you.

I'd be more concerned about how durable the ball end comes out.

They're M5 threads :)

The whole problem would have been moot if only they'd made the original ones solid

I might be wrong, but I have the impression he wasn't trying to do it on a large scale, money making venture. Not sure of the details, but I suppose it might be courteous to have a chat with him before printing off xxx number of them.

I have enough to do TBE should they fail (and that already has ali ones), so only even looking at it purely as an exercise.  If it looks OK and seems durable, then if there is the possibility of the shop helping to support the site, that's fine.  But if one of our sellers/repairers has a commercial interest in selling the same, I'd rather see that ;)
