As above you need to know the power consumption, a thirteen amp fused plug is also an isolator but if it requires more than that you will need either a sixteen amp plug and socket or possibly higher running on a dedicated correctly rated fused supply. but you must ensure the incoming garage supply is capable of carrying sufficient capacity for the welder and any other device running at the same time.

General Car Chat / Re: Autonomous cars

An interesting topic. Personally I welcome the advancement in autonomous vehicles. We already have plenty of inolvement from technology in most modern vehicles. Don't get me wrong I love driving but as the cause of most accidents are the drivers, take them out of the equation. Autonomous cars would stick to the speed limits, use the correct lane around roundabouts assess the stopping distances correctly, be able to accelerate into a gap more accurately, know their width through a gap, will not be distracted by children in the back seat, etc.etc. As for taxi drivers most of them should have their licences revoked. Admittedly software can be hacked but a terrorist could hijack a fuel truck easier.

I'm sure you're right, but at present it is not mandatory, thank goodness. :y

Why do you hate polar bears so, Shack? WHYYY!! ;) ;D

My favourite part of the smart meter ads is them saying how much energy we could save, then in the small print saying that this is by "monitoring usage and reducing waste". Look, you cretins, I use the energy I use because I want to use that energy - I don't leave lights on for shits and giggles, I do it because I'm in the room! ;D

Ahem. Sorry. I digress because I got sucked into a rant. Back to everyone's favourite whipping boy, the DVLA!

It amazes me how they can claim it will save you money, and annoys me that they think we are incapable of saving energy without them. As for agencies collecting info about you, I refuse the loyalty cards offered on those grounds.

That is a good looking example, I prefer the earlier interiors. I miss my 3.0l Elite estate I converted to manual, I have recently returned to the fold with a 3.2  estate I bought from a member on here and bought a 2.6 estate from another member at the same time which I need to get around to sorting and reselling.

Kevin, I am sorry to disagree with you on this as I was told by the police that in the absence of injury, they do not want to know:-

Ron.
How would they know if no one was injured if they just drove off?

Good points, thank you.
No way can I even fit a large tank in my loft, never mind the weight on my poor rafters, and I have mains feed to all cold taps in the house, the only stored water is for the DHW feed.
When you say "operated off a pullcord switch", do you mean that it cannot be left on all the time, or is that just for when left unused for holidays, for instance?
If the latter, then the pullcord switch could be sited near the loft hatch, like my loft lights switch.  :y

If you fit a standard light switch pull cord next to shower unit you can use it to operate the pump only when needed for the shower, A pressure reducing valve is like an adjustable control to set the pressure to be equal. on a lot of mixer showers the flow control isolates the outlet to the shower head and not the incoming supplies, so if the non return valve in the mixer valve fails you can back fill your storage tank form the mains supply, This can also happen with various mixer taps that are not design for mixed pressure. An unvented hot water system would be an option but can prove expensive and must be installed by a registered installer.

A few comments to make on this subject. Fitting a pump on your hot water outlet is not a problem but not always ideal as the flow through a basin tap would be excessive if allowing the pump to operate properly, The supplies to a mixer shower should be a balanced pressure ideally of the same header tank / tanks. If using mains supply ( again not recommended ) this can be adjusted with a pressure reducing valve inline. The ideal set up is a large enough storage tank to supply both the hot and cold water needs. with the cold water supply tank connection lower than that of the hot to ensure if a lack of water occurs the hot supply runs out before the cold, avoiding scalding. Your pump can be operated off a light pull switch if that helps. Speed fit fittings are able to be used on copper pipe but ensure you use a rotary pipe cutter or if using a hack saw file a taper on the ends as the sharp end will slice a nick in the "O" ring seal when you push it on.

Having been without an Omega for a few years I have been looking for a replacement estate. I had put your add in my watch list and was very impressed with the description. Also knowing your reputation on this forum I would buy with confidence from you, It just goes to show how stupid some people on Ebay are, good luck with the sale.

Why not simply wire a relay into the side light circuit at the lights pick up an igniton feed for the drl's fuse to suit and have the side light supply switch of the supply via the relay.
