Summer Meets.
« on: 10 February 2008, 19:32:04 »

:)Gloucester meet looks interesting. Newent sounded great last year so would like to turn up if there's another. Lakesmeet was a huge success & i loved it. Are there any plans afoot for another Lakesmeet this year? As some of you know i've got another year to go til finances ease off so can only afford one "big" meet this year so would like to choose wisely.
      Cheers, Guy. :y

I hope the Lakes one goes ahead as well, as it was a bloody good laugh last year, esp the England v Scots footie.  Haven't laughed so much in ages.  I think the fantastic weather (always risky) helped as well.

Also, I will always have fond memories of it, as it was the first big official OOF weekend meet (santa pod was first meet, but for most of us, it was arriving late on sat and leaving early on sun).

The other big meet last year was the 'nearly Wales meet', again fantastic fun, and hope it also goes ahead this year again.

Reality is that there are only so many 'big' meets we can do in a year.

Got to agree, the Lakes and Newent meets were excellent. :y :y

It would be good if we could do both again. The site at Newent was fantastic but might have to find a different site for the Lakes as I'm not sure Mrs Hitler would like us back again. :-/ (Unless she has the "misunderstanding" that we are policemen again! ::) )

I agree with you. I think the Newent Meet should be a must, excellent site and owners were spot on.
As for the Lakes Gorgeous place but Chopsdad may need to find us another site :)

Sounds good, but if it is the same weekend we can't make it.  Have to do the annual pilgrimage so to speak.  ::) :D

The only problem being, you have to be tucked up in bed by 10.30pm :(

[smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]A few "seasoned members" in that piccie!!
I seem to remember the bollocking we got when she said "it's the third time i've told you" & we stood around thinking "what"? Turns out it was the people in the Transit van near the toilets/lukewarm showers. Apparently the old dragon apologised for her mistake to one of our members (Chopsdad)? This could stand us in good stead for a regular annual meet. Other than this misunderstanding on her part it was a cracking meet, location(i love Cumbria) so we might be able to use that in our favour. Also maybe book an OOF pitch in advance so we can all "camp" together regardless of caravans (soz TB).
It's a landmark meet for OOF so i'd be prepared to give it another chance this year. She realized her mistake so should a appreciate a regular booking that can only grow & i'm sure we'd be better treated.
The fact i did'nt pay last year is immaterial!!!!! :y
