Unlikely to be the following, (you'd probably hear something at least), but It could be both of the balance pots have dry joints.
i.e. the one that controls the left channel is acting as if the balance is all the way right and vise versa for the right channel.

See my post in the CDR 2005 thread....

The only thing I can think of is the traffic master that has been fitted ??  Does this sound likely ??

Any thoughts / ideas gratefully accepted

Entwood

Your theory sounds spot on to me. I removed the Traffic Master from mine years ago partly cos I knew I'd not use it, &  also the fact that the adapter loom on mine wasn't the correct one for the CCRT700 ie it wouldn't clip into the back of the radio cage.

Sounds like a common problem , My 99 Elite is the same, wrong plug  :-/

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CD Multichanger Harness
« on: 19 April 2007, 18:54:15 »
Where the hell is it :question

So far i have removed the head unit, multichanger and harness from my donor CD spec car to put in my GLS ( no laughing now ) ::) The harness i have removed is the one that runs from the multichanger to the drivers footwell where it connects to the multi plug that sits infront of the central locking ecu, only problem is that my GLS does not have this multiplug in situ, all i have is the central locking ecu as follows :-

After hunting round i found the multiplug cable tied up under the dash so i cut the cable and dropped it down as so :-

As you can see there are not a lot of cables going to it :-/ and it needs to connect to the other half of the plug which comes from the changer which has quite a few more on it as so :-

Ive hunted round under the dash again and cannot find anymore plugs or cables, does anyone know where they are  :question they must be there somewhere :-[

Not sure any of the UK cars would have a seperate alarm, as our Omegas all came with a decent one factory fit.

I have had my S reg GLS estate for 5 years now. Are you saying I have an alarm? I know I have dead locks but an Alarm? :-/

Have I gone all this time without knowing?

I think you might be safe there Boiler Man, my GLS has an aftermarket alarm not a factory one, it is fitted under the scuttle next to the pollen filter, also the alarm stickers on the side windows were a bit of a give away. Unfortunately it doesn't work so i can't help with the original question :(
