Well needs must and we need to part with our Miggy as we cant afford to run 2 cars any more and she just sits on the drive. :'( :'(

We originally brought her from a OOF member in Jan 2013 2000/W (facelift) Omega GLS 2.0 16v Auto estate WITH LPG CONVERSION

Since we have owned her she has had various things done to her:

1. she now has leather seats (swapped out of my miggy)
2. 4 new Tyres all runways (Alloys were swapped from my old miggy).
3. New middle and rear section of the exhaust.
4. Full service. (done buy me and hubby)
5. Gearbox fluid change (Could do with a filter change)
6. she has a metal dog guard fitted. (has been powder coated black) and are highly sort after)
7. has the removable mesh rear window covers.
8. Roof Bars (believe are genuine VX)
9. Genuine VX car mats.

Not so good bits

1. small dent in the boot.
2. rust under LPG filler.
3. bonnet faded
4. passenger door central locking needs looking at.
5. key fob battery works but could do with a new battery soon.
6. the airbag light needs resetting (i forgot to wait 15 mins after disconnecting the battery when fitting the leather seats :-X)
7. drivers side mirror surround is tatty but have a spare in the garage.

she has 132000 miles on the clock and has loads of years left in her.  MOT is due January she flew through so cant see any issues passing the next one.

she will come with anything VX/miggy we have in the garage...of the top of my head i know i have the following. poly bushes for the rear frame ( the big ones ), front brake pads, any oil i have, manual, think i have some door cards in the loft of the garage and a box of bits(which i believe has Electric rear window motors and wiring looms fog lights and looms in it).

We are looking for around £500 ono. Would really like her to go to an OOF member.

Will post pictures once she has been valeted hopefully next weekend...unable to do so as its lashing down at home at present.

Cars for Sale & wanted / Omega Estate 2ltr 1999 plate LPG converted
« on: 31 January 2014, 21:07:58 »
Hiya guys

Well its time to part with my miggy its not cost effective anymore to run her I am doing 400/500 miles a week.

So before I call a scrap collection I want to offer her out to you guys. (she wouldn't be collectable until the end of Feb).

She has 10 months MOT with no advisory's. currently has 155 000 on the clock.

The Tax runs out 28 feb willing to TAX for collector if they want but would like funds for tax transferred over before I purchase the tax.

She runs well on both LPG and Petrol. she was mini serviced last month (oil, filter, plugs) last year she had a major service.

Cosmetically she's tatty on the out side and the bottom of the doors are rusty.  Inside she' s good she will have cloth seats in her as the hubby wants the leather seats

If anyone wants her for the sum of £250 ono she is worth more broken but I don't have the drive space to do so.

Omega General Help / LPG FILLER ISSUES
« on: 05 March 2013, 20:53:56 »
 Hi guys

well wonder if you guys can advise me further.

Fault:
i have notice that over the last month that after filling the car up with gas when i release the nosel the amount of gas that escapes ( pressure release) has increase to the point i burnt my hand today  :'( didnt move it out the way fast enough and it was bad enough to splash on my trousers.

now before you ask i have tried several different garages and different pumps to to ensure it not the garage side. ut im sure its the car.

hubby seams to think there is a seal in the filler point im not sure i did have a look at it while stuck in cornwall this week and lubed it but thats all due to no tools

is there a seal or do i need to replace the conection? can i get spares

thanks for reading guys  :-*

General Car Chat / Hubby is v mad at me and the car is broken
« on: 26 January 2013, 22:51:58 »
well today we swapped cars.

i went out for a drive to lincoln all is well and cars nice and quiet.

he metioned yesterday that the valves are shot on two tyres and cant put air in so i thought id be helpful and get all 4 valves changed and wheels balanced.

only place i could find was a halfords auto centre well they are only doing the wheels so id thought it would be okay. BOY WAS I WRONG.

goes to pick the car up after 1 1/2 i never normally leave the cars alone at a garage i watch and wait heres my first mistake but i said id take shane to toy r us and my friend for a coffee thought it would all be okay.

picks the car up and as im paying for her the guy mentions that the exhaust is blowing.
Arh Mrs R when we drove your car in we noticed your exhaust was blowing"
"OH OKAY it was fine when i parked up, where abouts from and how bad"
" the flexi joint has broken"
" really is that repairable"
" no its not you need to replace the whole cat"
" Thats strange as i had the mid section changed last week as well as passing the MOT"
" it might have been fine during the MOT"
" Surely they dont fail just like that"
" yes they can do"
" How loud is she"
" loud"
" turn the radio up loud and keep the windows closed loud"
" id reccomend it"

i pay the bill and go to the motor now i have two very tired cold and wet children who just want to get home and a freind who cant stand the cold (medically) who i really need to get back.

i turn the motor over and she dont sound that loud so i thought okay it will be fine to get her home 20 mins drive and take a look. well there is my first mistake i shouldnt have moved her i should have walked back in there and given them the third degree as something cleary is not right and they have clearly done something. any how gets home tells hubby and he take her out.

he gets home and rips my head off hes furious at me "i should know better, you let them take advantage of you cos your female"

okay so now i am horrified because i let it happen. and worked myself into a frenzy.

Hes sent them a complaint email. hes furious they let me drive away with kids in the car. he says hes covered the back of the exhaust and there is nothing coming out of it. need to confirm but it looks like the flexi joint has completly detactched.

he wants them to admit to damaging his car and pay for the repairs. i highly doubt its going to happen

can i fix the flexi joint? or do i need to replace the cat the emissions were bob on through the mot last week.

thankyou from one very upset ashamed and angry red head.

« on: 25 January 2013, 19:50:57 »
He was happy to see me today and the second thing that came out of his mouth today was the CAR!

yes Trish his new baby is not playing nice and within 30mins of being home i was underneath her bonnet  :'(

Well Bless him he has cleaned up the power stering pipe and leak hes a gooden although forgot the bottom clip  :'( i fixed it tonight.

but he mentioned that he has noticed a broken electrical plug ( please see help section) and shes not starting nice really sluggish.

so i was playing with her turned her on to see if its cos of the cold but i can see what he means but ill get to my point once turning off the car the smell of gas was substantal shes leaking and when i spoke to him  her mpg is f all.

he wants me to call the garage that Claire has said should have fixed said leak and put her on the uklpg register but hasnt. told him id much rather fix it then go through the rigmerol of garage considering its over an hour away but he when i said after i said i would fix it tomorrow was told find the leak if you like but dont fix it i WANT YOU TO CALL THE F ING GARAGE AND TELL THEM YOUR TAKING IT TO ANOTHER LPG GARAGE AND SENDING THEM A BILL FOR THE COST COS THEY  DIDNT FIX A THING AND DONT LET THEM TREAT YOU LIKE A DUMB WOMAN!! :-X

SO  yeah good day today  ;D ;D ;D

« on: 19 January 2013, 18:40:40 »
 :y

went and picked up another vauxhall estate 2.0 16v lpg today. brought it off a OOfer too  :y thank you claire.

shes mint :y

Got a few things id like to do to her before she does some serious motoring.

Cosmetically she is mint very sexy looking will be even better once we have
1. change the seats over in the front.
2. change the door cards.
3. needs unbadging on the bonnet
4. rust treat and respray rust areas.
5. put smoked side repeaters on her.

mechanically   she is good really happy with her  just a couple of things.
1. change the wiper blades as they are not 100% in this weather.
2. oil and filter change.
3. gearbox fliud change, (gearbox is nice and smooth but dont think its ever been done.)
4. Brake fluid change and bleed. (Her brakes are very reactive but dont know how old the fliud is)
5. coolant flush through and change.
6. get battery changed in one key and have it re programmed.
7. get her on the uklpg register ( when i can afford the cost of the inspection)
8. find out why she smells of rotten eggs when you put your foot down hard.

Shes going to be our main family car and mrs miggy is going to be my commuter as i know her and her noises and kinks.
