If anyone is after a carbon Irmscher steering wheel there's on one display at Beaulieu motor museum.  ;)

General Car Chat / whose fault?
« on: 10 May 2022, 22:12:03 »
'you' are turning right onto a main road from a side road.
A car on the main road coming towards you on your right is indicating left to turn left into the road you're tuning out of.
You move forward to make your right turn ..... meanwhile
the car behind the car tuning left overtakes said car & broadside you.

Genuine question ..... who's to blame? You? Or the overtaking car?

Asking for a friend!  ::) (honestly not me but my young nephew)

Been having a clear out in my garage and found a single centre cap for a Senator cross spoke alloy centre cap. Does anyone want or know of anyone that might want it before it goes into the scrap alloy bin? The badge from the middle is missing.

Free to a good home.

Is there a smaller Chinook type military helicopter?
We were at Croome National Trust today & helicopter flew over. I want to say it was a Chinook but it didn't look big enough. I've stood next to one years ago on the Falklands so know they are HUGE .... perhaps this one today was just flying higher than I thought  🙄

General Car Chat / seized caliper
« on: 02 July 2021, 10:45:42 »
My daughter has a 61 plate Yaris. The other week she asked me to look at it as she was just about metal to metal on the pads on one side at the front.
The pads on the other side had loads of life in them as they were not moving in the caliper/carrier. Cleaned it all up & fitted new pads.
Yesterday she phoned to say the same wheel hub was red hot so am assuming a seized caliper. I can't believe the huge price difference for a new caliper. The dealers are around £180, a local motor factor is quoting even more but then there are calipers available for less than £40

I knew I should have let her take her car to a garage when she first needed pads  ;D ;D

General Discussion Area / eBay
« on: 05 June 2021, 08:42:50 »
I ordered from eBay a fortnight ago with an expected deliver date of 10 days ago. Messaged the seller .... zilch messaged a few days later to say that if I didn't receive the item soon I'd raise it with eBay .... no item or response.

Raised a complaint with eBay this morning and within minutes had a reply from eBay to say that the money £52 would be credited to my bank account within the next few days.

Can't say fairer than that!  :y :y

I heard about this yesterday but have only just seen it. There must be a fair weight of water in there and in what is a 'Perspex' tank.

it does seem you need to be quite affluent to get to use it though  ::) ::) .... rents of between £1800 and £6500 per month.
