Last policy on my 2003 2.6 omega elite was with Adrian flux as a “modern classic”

34 years old, no claims or convictions, fully comp: not much change from £600

3,000 mile limit, too.

It’s now my daily driver and insured via a mainstream insurer for less

I’ve got my 1998 on a classic policy for last 2 years with Adrian flux.  Also agreed value.  There are few insurers who will insure Omega’s like this as apparently they’re on an excluded list (whatever that means!). I find this odd as there’s not many left on the road now.

Probably tarred with the drifting boy racer brigade brush :-\

Oh, BTW, Adrian Flux are expensive... Inspite of two years Ncb, I can insure a V12 for 18k miles a year with change from £700.

Should I feel the need ::)

I went with Adrian flux in the end as it was one of the only insurers with the best price willing to insure an omega. It is twice the price of my Carlton which is only 5 years older and I have no problem finding insurers for it.

Its always worth shopping around, as whats cheap for one situation can end up being expensive for the next.

I believe on some classic policies[maybe all?] you have to have a second vehicle as a daily driver and there can be other terms governing where/how the vehicle is kept overnight/when not in use?As well as mileage restrictions-the higher the annual mileage the higher the premium etc.

I need enlightening on the point / advantage of classic insurance.  :-\
I insure mine fully comp with protected no claims for less than £150 per year on a normal policy.
My old 190 costs about the same, with the same type of policy.

I'm sure someone more knowledgable will answer you more fully, Albs, but as I understand it, classic car insurance allows an agreed value higher than scrap value if written off and/or full restitution to its pre-accident condition.
Didn't Lizzie say something along those lines when she fought her insurance company?
