Boing Boing Boing Scrape
« on: 13 July 2006, 12:46:15 »

Well not really but I do need to uprate the springs.

With the extra weight of the gas tank I think it may get a little low while towing, my last tow car had factory stiffened suspension.

So what springs do I need for a facelift 2.6CD?

Tough one realy....MV6 springs would only lower the rear, maybe stiffer shocks would help.

Not sure if stiffer shocks would have any effect? Stiffer or possibly longer springs may be the solution.

I can recall seeing somewhere.....a device you can add onto the springs, that holds the centre part of the spring rigid, so it carnt give. I think was was for the purpose of towing as well.

Or maybe something like would do the job

I remember using some rubber type rings that "screwed inside the coil spring" they worked fine on my Saab at the time...not sure about an Omega though..I got mine via my local camping caravan center.

MV6 springs will lower it....what you realy need is self leveling suspension.....which could probably be cobbled together using the self leveling shocks plus a schrader valve in the boot to create a manual type adjustment system
