Remind me why I shouldn’t like start/stop?  It works perfectly on the Mondeo. For interest I’ve tried quick starts with it on and off (engine idling), and it starts so quickly there is no discernible difference. I don’t see the problem, unless you are a permanent traffic light drag racer like TB.  :-\
Have you noticed that at every set of traffic lights only 1 or 2 cars get through. Or why its now almost law to fit traffic lights on every roundabout due to this stupid, ill informed, wasteful technology.

You can save up to 1% of your fuel, if you use it properly.  ;D

So around £50 a year, tops. To suffer that shit, not to mention having to buy £500 batteries and £1000 starters.

Its a stupid idea, there are no upsides.

The traffic lights and ever reducing limits are primarily to slow traffic speeds and improve disrupt flow.

My commute will soon be 30 roundabouts in 25 miles at the rate they're building the sodding things >:(

Nope, fuel savings for the average user are all but no existent. It only reduces emissions near places of congestion  :y

Fitted the new battery to the Mondeo which arrived pretty much 24 hours after I ordered it.  8)

Vinyl should wipe off easily enough  :D

Always good to have an idea of where the limit is. Just in case :y

At least you know why the range is down...

It only reduces emissions near places of congestion  :y
And DPFs designed to reduce pollution in London, and dump it instead in our green and wonderful countryside.

Another stupid idea.

Not quite, but if I'd clenched any harder my as$e would have been bitten a neat little hole out of the 'leather'.  ;D

Absolutely, it's important research.

My biggest problem is that the car has generates a shed load of grip, so when it does let go, invariably it will be 'at pace' meaning things happen rather quickly, and any resulting accident would be spectacular.

Still, I don't plan on making a habit of it...

If they'll fit over the brakes, fit a set of 15" steelies from the E36. That should redress the power/grip balance :D
