I don't understand why we can take a dog to the vets, a quick injection and it's all over Rover!    A cow goes to an abbatoir, a bolt in the head, and its dead meat!     Someone can go to a clinic in Switzerland get given some drugs and off they go! 

Why are the US authorities making such a oops up of this and how hard can it be?    Afterall, if it's considered humane to kill a cow with a bolt gun, why not a criminal?

There was another story from America recently about a father who walked in on an 18 year old abusing his child-it had apparently been going in three years. The father beat him unconscious, then called the police and told them to come and collect the 18 year old.

The police pressed no charges against the father-saying he was defending his child and did what an father would.

A somewhat brutal punishment, but not one many normal people would argue with.
Was nice to see the police using common sense for once.

One of the reasons these executions are going "wrong" .... is the right wing goody two shoes have been finding out which drug companies are supplying the drugs, and then preventing them being supplied, either by publicity pressure, shareholder pressure or political pressure. The EU has actually banned the export of phenobarbitone, the drug which used to be used, to the states simply because it was used in executions !!

So in attempting to stop a quick and clean execution, because they consider the death penalty inhumane.... .. they have made the executions longer and less humane !!

By the time they abolished capital punishment in Britain, they had it down to a fine art.  I read an account of a hanging in the 1960's where the condemned man's cell was next to the execution room and they were connected by a hidden door.  From opening the hidden door to dropping him took 7 seconds!

Given the gun culture in the US it's kinda surprising that they don't just use a firing squad. Difficult to @rse that up, surely, and I can't see anyone daring to cut off their supply of ammunition.

I have to say, that those figures on the death penalty are past tense. I noted some comments at the bottom, that stated people were found not guilty because of new DNA evidence, not available before. Surely, this negates some of the comments, which are, as I say, past tense.
The terminology 'Beyond all doubt'...is used. Lets take the Lee Rigby situation...was there any doubt there !!!!! Why in these cases do we need trials that cost a fortune, with liver-mouthed lawyers making a case for these type of people.
To commit anyone to death is not nice, but do these murderers (beyond all doubt) have any thoughts before they commit their vile acts ?
