This advert is by and large a cut and paste from my previous one, with a few changes now some things have been sorted :y
'KH52 DHK' - Owned by me since September 2014 and bought as a project at the time with oil cooler failure and a cam sensor problem
NEW MOT - Passed it's MOT Today. The only advisory was that the rear brake pads don't have much meat left on them. If I achieve the asking price, I will replace them for the new owner, prior to sale.
Just approaching 110,000 miles
Automatic
4 x Pirelli P7 tyres - went through the MOT today without any advisories.
Since purchase I have
- Removed the 2.6 Engine and AR25 gearbox and put them in the bin.
- Fitted a known good 3.2 Engine block which had covered 120k
- Fitted the known good 3.0l cylinder heads from my Elite, after re lapping the valves x 24 and fitting new stem seals
- Replaced Cambelt KIT - it has only covered around 500 miles (This is now more like 900 miles)
- Replaced Aux belt tensioner (assembly and wheel) and auxiliary belt with brand new
- Replaced Spark Plugs
- Replaced oil cooler with brand new genuine part
- Renewed all fluids
- Fitted Stronger AR35
- Replace rear crank seal
- Replaced ATF
- Replaced Gearbox ECU (this cured the checksum fault issue and restored normal gearbox operation)
Known issues -
Front multiram now FIXED - it actuates perfectly when tested with software
Exhaust rattle FIXED - the MOT tester found an exhaust rubber missing, and replaced it. It doesn't seem to squeak now.
Steering idler FIXED - a known perfectly good GM one has been fitted
I haven't driven too far but the tramlining appears to have stopped too.
Things to finish off
- Weld lambda bosses in, after the main cat, as per maintenance guide. (Engine light is on, purely for this reason).
- Strangely some of the front air conditioning gubbins (pipes etc) was not present when I bought the car. I'm sure it could be restored but treat this as a car without aircon. I know some are very keen on aircon, it doesn't bother me that much in the UK!
Observations
Interior is very tidy indeed with original Omega mats, very clean looking and smelling, not been smoked in
Alloys especially are VGC
Parrot Bluetooth system, plug and play with any iPhone etc, works very well
Good sound system, 4 x CD changer
Lazy central door locking on passenger door
Sunroof surround (top of roof) tatty
Marks and imperfections commensurate with a car of this age
People following my threads will notice I have had an intermittent top end tap on this vehicle which I have been scratching my head over.
There is a thread somewhere in the help section on this.
There was quite a loud tap, which has quietened down to a level which is only just audible, after I changed the hydraulic lifters on the 2-4-6 bank. When you start the car, it's silent. About 4 minutes in, this noise creeps in - and then after a further 6 minutes or so, it completely goes again. Before and after video recordings are in there somewhere.
It has always been like this. I have ruled out oil ways. Oil pressure has been checked and is fine. It can't be anything sinister, as it goes away when warm. I still think it might be a lifter on the 1-3-5 bank.
I am mentioning for honesty. I am scratching my head as to the cause. However I have no issues over the reliability of this car. I drove it 150 miles on the motorway today, it didn't miss a beat and is very smooth.
Slight weep from front crank seal. When I say slight, this means the level doesn't drop on the dipstick.
The price, including the new MOT and brake pads, is £650. You could literally drive this for a year, doing nothing to it :y

I should add, I carried out an oil change today, as a treat for passing the MOT, using fully synthetic genuine GM oil :y
This car goes very well indeed. I would jump in her tomorrow and go from one end of the country to the other in total confidence :y

I might have beaten a path to your door but for the lack of air con. It would be hard for me to chase the parts up here. It might also be harder to put Spanish plates on. They don't like anything non standard.

This car was a 2.6 so a fair comment I would have thought.

That's because, people on here don't know a bargain, when they see it then think if I hold back I will get it cheaper than the asking price.

To be fair, I would have taken a sensible offer, one only had to try :y

You must be gutted James, I know I would be at that price for that car.
Fort future reference, unless you need the car gone like yesterday, the only way to sell cars on eBay is the same as OFF, put your 'Buy it Now' price up together with 'Make an Offer'.

Disappointed, not gutted. Sadly I need the space on my drive, so I'd prefer to lower the price for a quicker sale :y
