Omega General Help / flushing coolant facelift model

Heater still blows cold (2001 model) vacuum pipes seem ok... So i thought i'd try flushing the sysyem (looks abit grotty)....Whats the best way to do this? is the radiator drain tap visible without removing the under engine plastic shield.

Have been looking at all these customised omegas of late (gallery) and they look brilliant, unfortunately my wallet will not allow me for some time.

I however am considering the following and would like any views - Maybe you have replaced the same any advice will be most appreciated :-

2003 Omega

1. I have the xenon type blue tint Main headlight bulbs fitted as standard,

Can I also replace the sidelights to the same and are they legal?

2. I have seen a few advertisements regarding LCD Blue Dash kits -Transforming the original orange to blue including the centre console (I do like the look of them).

Has anybody done this or have any opinions?

Omega General Help / service advice Omega 2003 2.6 auto saloon

Hi all, i went to view a omega(private sale) 2.6 cdx 2003 today, the car is upto date with all service stamps from a vaux dealer and the last was done in july 2006.
The car todate as covered 51000 miles.
Now the seller who has owned the car from new is not sure if the cambelt/tensioners etc have been changed, he believes it has because if it should have been surely vauxhall would have done it, but he was never given any paperwork from the dealer to support this (now the owner believes it should be changed at 80k) but the majority say 40k is it 40k or 80?

I have heard somewhere vauxhall revised this - they did suggest 80k but reverted back to 40k does anybody have a web link regarding this?

Why would the dealer service department not give the customer a service worksheet copy surely this would make life easier for the seller and make life alot simpler for the buyer? any ideas.

I did advise the seller to contact the dealer ... they must have the car on file and surely they must have a record of all jobs done.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Omega General Help / central locking motor removal - how easy?

Hi all,2001 model drivers door( sometimes works then it won't), removed all panels.. is it just the screws on the outer door edge holding it in place. still seems to be very tight for hand access.

Omega General Help / Dasboard display icons.

My 2001 omega has a engine icon(yellow) on the dashboard which lit up yesterday continuous

, looked in the owners manual and the reasons to why this has happened are very vaige and opt for the ' consult your main dealer'.

What it does say is - there is a a problem with emmissions or immobiliser and while the icon is lit a safety backup is in force and the car will not perform as it would normally do so don't use it for long periods.

Has anybody any further info on this or had the same problem.
I will take it to vauxhall on monday.. and i'm guessing it will cost alot of money to put right.. hope somebody can help.

Hi all, just wondered if any of you could help.... When I put the heater on hot, it sometimes blows cold.. could this mean a engine flush?

Omega General Help / Alarm porblem

Hi all,(Omega 2001) I am new to this forum hope i have posted in the right place -
Basically the alarm triggers itself for no reason, I seem to have two alarms not sure, one alarm when triggered sounds with the car horn and the indicator lights flash, the other which i am having the trouble with has a lower tone, this triggers itself off with a tone only no lights or the horn sound are included.
Any ideas?

Omega Gallery / Treated the old girl to some bits

Some lowlife reversed into my car while i was parked and drove off..

they damaged my front bumper and bonnet... i was gutted. I decided to replace the bumper but add a cheapo spoiler and some side skirts... it actually looks better than i thought... then i found a opel badge on the german ebay not sure why but it stood out so i bought it.. apart from a small repair needed to the bonnet the car looks great again .. i can once more smile..
