and you WILL need some form of UK TMC software on your Nav disc if you want anything to work in the uk.

Whether that is actually available, others may advise on here?

chrisgixer - my TMC options are NOT greyed out, and everytime I turn on the Navi, it prompts to retune to Classic FM, so its trying to do something.  However, everytime I go to TMC messages, its always blank.  I'll get some photos.

Might be an idea to include software versions in the replies, so that you can all work out who is running what?

TMC not greyed out

but never shows any info

or display anything on map (major roadworks on M1 between Luton and M25)

TMC config (under Tuner section)

No roadworks anywhere

If I remove disk, but keep TMC active, I get this after a while

which implies its receiving TMC info, but not processing them?

Correct - You need the relavent TMC software on the Nav disc.

The screen is even asking you to insert the correct disc so TMC can be updated !!

If you do not have the correct software, you will not be able to use TMC.

Exactly the same as mine does, you can also access a list of TMC broadcasting stations and select your default station.

That msg is displayed only when the nav disk is removed  :-/

Can the version number be found on the screen somewhere or is my version 2003-1 as printed on the disc?

Tb, i think you have a better version. My tmc menus dont have that many options, and as far as i can see there is no way of zooming out to show that bigger map of the uk you have. Will post some pics later, got a bloody 1.9 tdi cam belt to do now.

When you have the map on the screen try clicking on menu then selecting the scale to a larger unit.

Navteq's site doesn't list any options for TMC, just has the 1 UK one, at £76

As far as I know, TMC is only transmitted on Classic FM ?

I could also be wrong here, but the other options look like they may be a form of RDS messaging service where you can select or deselect different local information dependant on the route you are taking. Most broadcasting stations have their own RDS message services, and these can often be "desensitised" by using TA / Local or REG settings on modern car audio equip.

Not aware of TMC having that many options, it was only ever ON or OFF ? Motorway or Non Motorway?

Classic FM is only one in list when I attempt to enable TMC.

Mine behaves exactly like TB's. My disk is one year older than his. I belive that he currently has 2007/8, whilst I have 2006/7.

I didn't have that option at all with my previous 2001 disk.
