Sounds like water pump failure if no sound when pulling the stalk

Lift the pump and check for gunge ;)

But gunge won't stop a working pump from whirring  ;)

Pull the pump from the tank .... it's just a push fit ...... check for voltage (when the stalk end is pushed) or stick 12 volts across the pump & see if it runs.

Facelift, open bonnet, you can seen one or 2 (if you have headlight washers) pumps with a rubber protection sleeve over top, that is mounted vertically in approx. the middle of the tank.

Peel up this rubber cover to expose connector, and unplug connector to test as AndyB says.

Most likely cause of pump failure though...

Maybe  :-\ but it'd need a lot to stop a pump.  :-\

hi guys.

firstly thanks for all your help.

update.

firstly I took the pipe of the pump and blew it thu to the washer jets all was clear.

so in my wisdom concluded that it must be the pump motor so I changed that with a new one at £9.74. but to my shock still not working.

so I took it back out complete with the rubber grommet this time to find that what I thought was just a rubber seal grommet was actually a filter to and was very clogged up.

so cleaned that and put back with original pump and is working better than it has in a long while.

took new pump back for a refund job done.  :y

That white gunge in that filter is due to using neat water in the screenwash. Even in summer it needs some commercial screenwash

(Triple QX screenwash might not be strong enough to prevent the build up of this stuff, it would appear from another member's experiences)

Glad you're sorted. Now it's working, make sure you use a decent quality screen wash. The grunge was a result of cheapo or no screen wash.
