Just been out for a drive in the dark... While driving it will occasionally pop up with the error, More so if hard braking or accelerating hard, I noticed in a empty car park giving it short bursts of power forward and reverse the lights do go up and down as they should then the error pops up and wont go off unless you move or click OK..

Btw what is the part number for these front and rear level sensors incase i need them  :y

From what I've described what does it sound like to yous as to what's causing this error message...

Could be anything from the sensors themselves to the motors in the headlights to a wiring fault between the two.

But the most likely/common fault is the sensors. Usually the small rose joints on the little connecting rods to the sensor arm seize up, in turn pulling the sensor ball on the arm out the back of the socket in the sensor. Some tlc in UN seizing the rose joints and some grease in the sensor ball joint may fix it, but usually by that time it's too late, the parts are worn and the sensor ball falls out again.

If the sensors look physically intact, then the headlight motors would be next port of call IMO. Then the wiring.

No personal experience beyond sensor faults though.

Ideally needs some live data - if the sensors are reporting wank on part of their movement, or the servos are reporting tosh, then you're breaked without randomly changing parts.

Also, use Kevin Woods battery charging guide - the ECU is particularly sensitive to undervoltage conditions.

Battery/Charging are fine, No error codes, Sensors are intact and moving as they should, Lights move up and down them self's as can be seen here LINK Was fine today for around 10 miles got back home went out later again then it was acting up again with that error message.

Is there a way around this to stop the error message popping up without fixing whatever is apparently wrong with it... Like disconnect something ? .. I really haven't got any patience for it at the moment. I don't even go out in the dark it's just annoying & presumably an MOT failure that message.

Nope. Fix the fault. Head lights out isn't too bad a job, and check the motors aren't rusty. IMO anyway...

If I knew what the fault is i would, No doubt it's either an awkward or expensive problem...

Had this on the old Elite Estate - checked out sensors and motors ok - turned out to be a broken wire in loom on inner wing between front sensor and motors - bugger to find.
