A few  oil changes may stop the tapping, check the ICV to make sure it is seated properly and that there are no air leaks. The V6 does have a deep throaty exhaust note and the cooling system is pressurised so i wouldnt worry about that too much. HTH

Bicknells are money grabbers so are problably charging retail for the oil cooler as its not a TC item and they are being mean by not giving a trade price on it

They knocked a bit off to get that price ::)

As TB says, there's another kit, which is a lot cheaper

And when you've done them you'll have a big grin on your face and be wondering why you were so worried in the first place ;)

Thanks for the advice chaps, I thought it might be best to use genuine cam cover gaskets , but has anyone any experience of using aftermarket headgaskets? I would rather not buy vauxhall ones  after the robbing b*st*rds quoted me £62 EACH for 6 exhaust valves!

After market H/G's are fine, you just need the get them from the right place, hence my comment about Marks DTM pointing you in the right direction ;)

Use genuine Cam Cover gaskets only.
MarksDTM will no doubt tell you where to get head gaskets from

it does cheers, now onto the rear blind and heated seats are the connecting blocks behind my blank switchs ?

Should just be plug and play, see if you have the plug in the boot for the blind, should be under the the parcel shelf on the n/s towards the front

the cd changer is in the boot and my gls doesn't have the wiring in the boot for it , so does it connect further back in the car i.e. under the rear seat or under the sill scuff guards like early cavs.

and are the switch sockets behind the switch blanks ??

you wont have the front to rear harness in the GLS, but it can be easily swopped from the CDX, just remove it from the changer and follow it back to the front of the car to the plug in the drivers footwell, this is where you will probably find you do not have the correct harness. It can be tucked up behind the dash but my GLS only had a basic harness ans was totally different. Best bet is to remove the footwell trim by the bonnet release on both cars and check the big multiplug that bridges the ecu and see if they are the same. HTH
