10mm, I would have thought you could either remove or shear it off with a pair of mole grips? Presumably with the turbo off the car access/fixing it won't be too tricky.

Probably have to take it off with the cat as the bolts can be almost impossible to get at properly.

Not really enough space to get mole grips on and be able to twist them around to shear it.
Cant take the cat and turbo off together, as not enough space.
Dont know anyone with Irwin sockets, so might have to buy one and wait for delivery before going any further.
May try and get a junior hacksaw in there tomorrow. If there is space it will be time consuming but I can liv with that if it does the job.
Bloody French !  ::)

I really want to start playing around with the Boxster, but need to get this done first if I can. :(

Undo the engine mounts and lever the engine away from the turbo enough to drop the turbo and cat out :-\

You’re not going to do that job twice :y

Not even sure I will get it finished once at this point. A second time would definitely be either a box of matches or over a cliff.

It's all easy practice for when you start on the Porsche. Another thing to do is find all your parts receipts, and triple the prices....

Got it off at last. Welded a bigger nut on the end of the stud and managed to unwind it. Also got the intercooler out, which had quite a bit of oil in it, as expected.
Back to work tonight for a couple of nights, then start cleaning everything up and put it back together.
Not looking forward to it, but needs must.  ::)

With no small amount of swesring, got the Civic's suspension and brakes all fitted. In between the sort of rainstorm that would have Noah breaking out his Workmate...

It has been a useful little contraption for commuting as I get over 60mpg from it.
It has really tried my patience recently though. One more episode like this one and the swan vestas are coming out.
