I changed the bettery on my fob and now the central locking does not work. The fob lights up when pressed but nothing.

Also the front heated seats don't heat up any more. The lights come on on the dash when selected, checked the fuse box etc. Rear ones working fine.

Any pointers? Thanks.

Omega General Help / Service kit for 2.5 petrol Omega
« on: 26 September 2019, 17:31:04 »
Sorry this is a very basic question, am getting a service on my W-reg 2000 2.5l Elite auto and there's two options to buy the kit - one with 4 plugs and a metal oil filter, the other has 6 plugs with a paper filter. Which one would I go for? Thanks in advance.

Omega General Help / Starting issues
« on: 24 June 2019, 13:44:51 »
Hi, don't use the Omega much so used to flat batteries, this time is different.

Went to start, dead battery. Battery was new 18 months ago. Charged the battery for 24 hours, started no problem, I have battery/alternator tester and all showed good. Next day won't start, but the battery shows a green light suggesting it's still charged. Have double checked for lights left on etc.

So bit puzzled by this. Unless the battery is a dud what could it be? Thanks.

Newbie Welcome Area / Finally picked up my Omega
« on: 01 April 2016, 23:57:55 »
I wrote here a few months ago about inheriting my father-in-laws Omega, took a while but finally arrived.

She's a 2000 reg Elite with 156k on the clock, must be 10k's worth of service history, all main dealer, 3 cambelts to date, a grand on the air con alone.

I mentioned previously about replacing the alloys to the 16" ones on the CD version. I prefer the look of these, and apart from the smaller wheel would there be any advantages/disadvantages? Read it would give a softer ride. I had a CD a few years ago, most comfy car I've ever driven so I know a bit about them.

The driver home was great, though the revs jump about at idle. It hasn't been used for a year, would this sort itself out over time? Mot in May where she'll have a full service. Will change the ATF as well as this appears to have been overlooked.

Newbie Welcome Area / Inheriting my father-in-laws Omega
« on: 20 October 2015, 13:15:50 »
Hi, glad to join. I'm inheriting my late father-in-laws W-reg Omega Elite with 156k on the clock. He looked after it well and I intend to maintain her in the same way. One question - I don't like the 17" alloys, much prefer the 16" ones from the CD. Is it possible to swap a set over? Thanks.
