Peugeot Hdi 2.0 engine management light
« on: 01 August 2018, 13:28:28 »

The light came on yesterday on the Vitara. No change in performance . Can't see anything obvious loose, detached or leaking.

Thankfully we have a second car so no hurry to fix it /get it fixed. it might even be something I can fix myself!

The obvious thing to do is to take it to an independent garage used to dealing with older vehicles. We have such a place 30 miles away. Before I do that I wondered if anyone had any suggestions of what might be wrong, a faulting process.

I cannot find a way of flashing stored codes out and haven't currently got a reader. It is a 2002 car about 130 k miles ( I read somewhere that injectors tend to go around 132k miles as an aside). Might it be worth me getting a code reader and if so what would you suggest please?
