Automatic gearbox AR-25 to Omega B 2.5td
« on: 14 October 2017, 08:29:15 »

Hello everybody!!!! I'am new on the forum and I drive Omega 2.5td model 1998.
From a few days I'm confronted of a defect that surpasses me but it has appeared.
At first I had the impression that I was missing the speed I and I went harder from the place after which the salt jumped back and we took it out but it seemed like the salt after a few seconds directly in III.
Now the car is going hard hard out of place I have a speed of over 2000t / min but it does not work. It's like she's stuck in speed III all the time.
I tested it and I did not get any defect code on the box or in general.
Has anyone been confronted with this defect?
Does anyone know what direction to look for?
Thanks !!

Have you checked the fluid level? Sounds like it's low. To be honest, it sounds like a big leak.

Oh, and welcome to the Forum :y

Change the oil, 8.5ltrs of Dex 3, drop both sumps, check for peices of plastic in sumps, if there's plastic then new thrust washer needed. The filter can be washed out with petrol.
O and book the shower when finished, if you are doing it on the drive. ;D

.. and be aware that an AR25 in a 2.5td is a bit of a marginal combination. Might not be worth too much diagnosis before a 2nd hand AR35 is the best option. Start with a fluid change, though, and check that the sumps are clear of debris. :y

My thoughts too, but I suspect the OP is not from the UK  ;) And therefore a good used AR35 may not be as easy to get hold of :-\
