My MV6!
« on: 21 April 2019, 00:00:23 »

Massive thanks to Jamesv6cdx for all the work he’s done to rescue my car, this man is unbelievable! My heads were fkd and a considerable amount of work was needed, he has done an incredible job on my car with much more done than was first planned. The drive home 160 miles was effortless and even with 206,000 miles on the clock I can still say it drives perfectly, much more power and far more tractable. Got home without a peep!... purring and running like new.Just to add, it was cleaner when I picked it up, over and under the bonnet than when I took it up,even after all the work.👍👍👍 I’m newish to this forum and very lucky that he picked me to help. I hope I can repay you one day mate.

You’re most welcome, I’m sorry it took so many months - a few years ago I’d have done it in a weekend! We got there in the end though, I’m pleased it’s so much better for you.

Great to see you and thanks very much for the beer, there’s still a bit left  :D :y

I’ll post up some pics and videos soon - the initial startup one is quite interesting :y

Glad the car is sorted.  :y

Just goes to show what a thoroughly decent guy James is for his enthusiasm and determination to fix this car, and for no labour charge either. Although full engine strip down and rebuild is well within my capabilities, I just wouldn't have the time to work on someone else's car. Having done a few complete engine strip downs and rebuilds myself personally in my younger days (cars and motorbikes) from just a bare block, it's not just the strip down/rebuild that takes time, it's the running about acquiring parts. It all takes time, James's own personal time, so I respect and applaud him for that.  :y

Well done that man.  :y

I've just read through the original thread and given what James has been through in recent times this is amazing.

I take my hat off to you James!  :y

He’s meticulous, and methodical, the car was in hell of a mess when it turned up on the trailer at about 1 o’clock in the morning ::) but when I picked it up it was gleaming! I really can’t thank him enough been out it her all day it’s flying.
