Found this on top of the battery of the Astra I bought last Sunday for my daughter. There's something in the boot too, under the carpet, ahead of the spare wheel well, about the size of a fag packet. Any idea what it might be?

It's a "black box" TELEMATIC tracker that insurance companies use for young drivers etc or big companies who want to know where the fleet cars are
I'd remove it , but that's up to you

if you want tracker and remote immobilizer function these GT06n are good with a cheap PAYG sim £20 a year top up  , my GT06n cost about £20 delivered
probably not something you need though
