Bit of a shock - Service.
« on: 03 August 2006, 16:13:24 »

Just having the Omega serviced, and one of the owners of the garage, a mate of mine, told me to phone this afto' to see how they are geting on...

anyway, i phoned up, service going OK, just 2 things to report - i'ts desperately in need of front brake pads...like virtually nothing left on the pads (odd the sensor didnt show up, unless its just outside the perameters?) and id asked them to check for a knocking at the back end...they found it, a broken spring!

Bit shocked about the pads and spring really...least i know it will be sorted now though.

I have a distrust of most dealers. Broken spring is possible, but brake pads (assuming you have sensors)...?

Sensors removed and wires short-cicuited by a previous owner?  :o
Uneven pad wear on one pad only (i.e. NOT the one with the sensor on it?) due to...well no idea due to what, really :-?
Partially-blind mechanic?  ;D

Or a typical Vauxhall dealer?

Its not in a Vauxhall dealer...wouldnt touch my local (Hargreaves) with a barge-pole...the small one (Warton Hall) about 10miles away is very good though.

The place i use is really good, small place run by a couple of lads i know well, they are Vauxhall (& MG Rover) specialists, & i trust them implicitly.
