Absolutely brilliant :y
I could not do that for all the tea in China. What always gets me, is how close the public stand, with those cars doing terrific speeds. How there is not a massive death toll during these rallies baffles me :o :o :o

It shows how we tend to use these without thinking, as it took me a few moments to work out what you were on about! :-X

It's a wonder more crews aren't killed tbh, especially given the drivers penchant for crashing soo spectacularly at every opportunity :-\

Such clips are always enthralling to watch though... I particularly like the one where the chap is standing at the end of the fence when a car wraps itself around the post next to him. His reaction...

... To nonchalantly side step the ensuing carnage. Either very cool or completely oblivious to what has nearly happened :D

What I find confusing, is that with, say, F1, I have this horrible nagging that if they crash, someone will be killed. However, with Rally, I cringe for the spectators, and for some reason, the drivers don't figure. I don't know whether its a case of, that with F1, drivers are at the forefront, whereas with Rally, unless you are a 'proper' fan, the drivers 'don't exist' as such, its the make of car that is in the limelight.
Just my personal observation ;)
And, Al...I totally agree with your observations regarding the onlookers 'nonchalance'

Is there a trophy? A tibia attached to a steering wheel for a base?  ;)

It's part of the rally experience, especially in Europe,to try and touch the car driven by your hero, it's a foreign thing, in Britain, the marshals just get the stage cancelled, they dare'nt stop a stage in europe, unless, drivers complain..
And the reason for less attendance in England is the price organisers charge to watch,as lots of stages in England are crowd controlled, safe areas etc effing safety,, go to Europe, most weekends and there's good quality rallying, the ferry cost is the most expensive part of the experience.

You can't beat being plastered in gravel and mud as a grB car on full chat comes by spitting flames and barking.   Rrr history :)

Good video,  :y

Not uncommon to see small front wheel drive cars and trees amalgamated together on a Sunday morning here in Epping Forest, from the aftereffects of the Chavs night before effort.  ::)  ;D
