Annoyingly, it just started first time, and drove home without fuss or drama. Bloody thing.

Yep !
when all the fancy Toys are broke , you can always trust the yoyo (zafira )  :y
The hardest bit is usually trying to find where it got left...
Why ??? Do you just abandon it randomly in the Brackley area? :o
you know what it's like , you have something precious to you , you put it somewhere SAFE
then forget where it is  ;D :D

Updated the Sat Nav in the Merc..... Without any of that unpleasantness from using dealers, codes, or cash! ;D ;D ;D

...and how did you do that, may I ask?

With Comand 4.5 / 4.7 (not looked for other versions) there is a trick where you can do the map update an unusual way...
Basically get the map you already have on usb....but remove most the files, and use this to start an update....it doesnt need a code as its the same version you have.
It tells you it cannot find the media and to supply it, you give it the new files, it still compains, you pull that stick out and put it in again, and off it goes, Happilly updating!   Let me know if you need more info ;)

Ah, mines got a Becker Map Pilot :(

There are ways for that too if you don’t mind some playing

Well, I object to paying £90 for an update, they're only Here maps anyway.

I wouldn't want one myself  ::)
BUT
the Zaf A 2.0 DTi elegance is a very robust and versatile car
the one on the fleet has replaced the troublesome xsara picasso that always needed something fixing
try as he may(due to incompetence), the family member who has it ,can't break it  :)
and the factory rust proofing is very food , unlike the ZAF B and certain other vauxhalls on the fleet  :D

I have to agree.  Its slow, doesn't handle, uncomfortable, a bit small, and generally unlikable.

But it is stubbornly reliable, well built, good anticorrosion protection, versatile and thrashable.

I'm guessing my 130k 2002 Elegance DTi is probably worth £500 tops, but worth far more than that to me.

we paid 500 for a Jan 2003 with about 105k on about a year ago, 10 months MOT (dealer part ex,no warranty), I spent another 200 ish quid on new discs & pads all round,service,2 tyres and a spare alloy , serviced again pre MOT and put cataclean in ,new reverse switch £5 for the gearbox, MOTed again with no advisories , now 120k

so not worth very much at all

I've had to do far more rust prevention to the 5 years newer Zaf B , 12 months MOT 88k cost £800
replaced front and rear discs and pads,
rust proofing ,
new rocker cover (pcv valve bummed) had to drill 3 bolts out the head  :'(
new gates cambelt and waterpump kit
full service (all filters)
new coolant hose and OAT antifreeze
that's about £400 in parts and supplies  ::)

My Zaffy was primarily bought as a storage facility when my garage disappeared

Yesterday, had to have words with chap opposite, as one of his mates always parks outside his house, no matter what. For the 2nd time in 2 weeks my battlebus was parked outside mine, so when he parked, it completely blocked our narrow road.

What goes through the mind of these people?
