On a different note. I took a pic of the one good reason for having a plastic welsh / f----h diesel hatchback for commuting.

I think it over reads by about 10%, but wil check when I fill it up in the next week or so.

That's how they go ;)

BMW ones have to be chiselled out in hundreds of pieces... They go in as nice supple single piece rubbery seals :D

Wrong shape and texture. Opened out its thin and a squarish shape, and had been folded up a few times. Im guessing someone has dropped it in the oil filler years ago and then just ignored it.  Opened out flat it would be approx. 2 inches square.
looks like a piece of packaging of some kind.  :-\
The sump has been off before though, so it may have happened then.  :-\

you can't rule out the item dropped in during engine assembly 17 years ago, or it was in the oil when someone did an oil change etc

maybe now it's not blocking the oil strainer you will get 70 MPG out the Omega too  ;D

The Barge lives in Sport mode, and that sees at least 24 :D

Contemplating slapping a blower on it, just to chivvy it along a bit... Hopefully that will also drop the economy back down to Omega depths of 23.4 mpg :D

Not mine, a friend's elderly Mum's small Renault hatchback like Albs has.   ::)

The boot catch mechanism had jammed, so stripped it all down, freed it, reassembled and jobs a good un!  :y

Gave it a quick wash, interior hoover and wipe and that's my good deed for the day.  :)

Replacement bumper arrived today, so duly fitted once I had finished refilling the garage...

Before and after...

Quite impressed by the lack of rust behind it, what there was has been duly treated. New bumper has previously been repainted, and isn't perfect, but importantly it isn't scuffed to the plastic on the corners.  ;D. Just the front wings (and possibly a door if I want to be picky) and it will be almost presentable...
