Correct, You don't have to subscribe to the sat-nav, I have the latest 2007 disc which I got on eBay simple but the disc in and away you go, it's a bit slow compared to some of the modern day sat-nav systems but its OK :)

satnav and ccrt7000 :)
& why does the ****** radio stay on when I've got out & locked it? Haven't had time to read the "encyclopaedia" that came with it yet!!
No subscription required for satnav (the voice saying subscribe is for traffic master).  The licence to use is with the map disk.  May be worth taking the car to someone with a disk and testing before splashing out yourself.

The radio staying on I believe is a setting - something like auto on/off or on/off logic.  Earlier sets like CCR600, to toggle this on and off is a case of pressing station presets 1 and 3 together, whilst turning on set.  Yours is a bit more advanced, so may be in a menu somewhere....

The 2002 will be reasonable, though 2007 should have newer roads on. Not sure if on these systems if the later maps run slower though?  I know the Carin will always be slow, but do the newer maps slow it down further?

The 2007 disc is just as fast or slow as the 2002 disc, well it is in my car ;)

Ooohhhh SatNav....

Its Krypton green I think.....the old one would have been Velvet/Jungle Green........

Very nice but, please clip the positive distribution box back to the ECU box....
The pre-delivery inspection has Velvet Green written on it, I'll have a look at the VIN plate.

The pictures were taken at the guys house where I got it from, I noticed the ECU box & put it back  :y

The DVLA are very wary about transferring numbers from scrapped vehicles, I'm working on it but have probably left it too late....

It has the same paint code Z359 as the old one, but it does look slightly lighter from certain angles.....

That's the same as mine, '99 Elite :) just different colour. Mine hasn't got sat nav though. which I wouldn't miss.

Had a technician come to or store the other day to collect some parts.  Was passing time of day when he said

Him: Where am I?

Me: Pardon?

Him: what town am I in?

Me: Er, you don't know what town you are in?

Him: No

Me: You are in Pontefract, where have you come from?

Him: Chesterfield, just put postcode in sat nav and it brought me straight to your door.

Me: You're winding me up ! you telling me you've driven from chesterfield to pontefract without even looking at a road sign :o

He wasn't joking.  Think I'll stick to maps
What a stroker! Is that a Lotus or a Caterham? Either way can i have it please?!!!
