Yes, you will be able to steer the car by turning the wheel either clockwise or anticlockwise depending on which way you want to steer!! ;D

Don't know if this will help you at all, but you can obtain adapters that fit between the head unit and the original loom of the car, enabling the steering wheel controls once more. Personally, I have not bothered as I never used them. I would like to get a display driver, but that is another story!
Halfords do the adapters at £29.99 and you need a patch lead that fits between this and the head unit. The other end plugs into the car's loom. The patch leads were around £5 if I recall.

I have just looked at the audio manual of my Omega which has the steering wheel controls and it says the stereos that have the steering wheel control features are the CAR400, CAR600 and CAR 800 with the 600 and 800 being able to contol a multiplay CD. Hope this helps LSG

The Connects2 drivers do both but cost more money.

Ok guys thanks 4 the help ;)
-
I wouldn't bother.
Apart from the fact that you won't really miss them, there's precious little space behind the radio for adaptors.

I like seeing track details - also I use the volume buttons

What is your current head unit?

I know, but where do you get them? You cannot buy directly from their site and e-bay searching only brings up F**D ones!
Of course, there is still the space issue behind the head unit to consider, but I would like to have a display if only to get rid of the date!

Connects 2 are available from Halfords :( or from a few internet resellers - seen one at stupid price.
Best thing is set up a search on Ebay

A blaupunkt cd 51 4x45 w

I think you need to contact Blaupunkt for that one
I think the different leads can just be modified
-
I like it in there but i think a standard omega one looks tidier do u agree ?

Yep, I prefer my standard NCDC2013, looks even better after i upgraded it to the color display though. 8-)
-
True. Some aftermarket H/Us can spoil the understated look of the interior.

I want 8-) colour display like yours :)

Can the colour displays be fitted to all omegas provided they have the right audio equipment?

It would require the correct loom as well as the correct head unit. There are two multiplugs going into the back of the color display, not one.
Easy to check though by removing the instrument cluster to check for said spare connector. The 2013 and 2015 have a different setup though, BC functions are not controlled by buttons on the wiper stalk for example.

Sounds interesting is there any chance of some piccys of the setup you have. :)

I've taken stacks of pictures, external, internal and all display/config combinations etc., all for my site at OmegaProject.co.uk (http://omegaproject.co.uk)
However, due to my current host being utter crap, i have hung off progressing the site until i migrate to a new provider, hopefully sometime this week or next.
I'll keep you posted when it's available. ::)

Ok cheers m8 ;)
