Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Stereo/Sat Nav Fault
« on: 07 August 2006, 23:35:27 »
Hi, i have a 2001 Elite Omega, should it have Sat Nav fitted, if so it's not working altho the screen shows date/time etc..., also my stereo has no power to it at all, in the main fuse box where it says CD a fuse won't stay in the slot, also how can i get the stereo out without marking the fascia. It's annoying me now as i want to test the Bose speakers.  Thanks. :)

Thanks guys. I had a little play tonight and changed the ABS fuse and the Tracs & ABS light is now off for good and my speedo works, and the boot opens & the alarm button lights up too, brilliant lol....now my only problem is the stereo not working still, theres a fuse saying CD but the slot wont hold a fuse at all, it slips out, and the stereo is 2006 model, also in the glove box i have a manual for a sat nav type display but thats not working either although the time/date are ok.  Is there an easy way to remove the stereo without marking the fascia.  ::)

Omega General Help / Minor Electrical Probs!

Hi, i recently bought a 2001 Omega Elite as a runabout, i have noticed it has 2 or 3 gremlins though, more annoying than major.

1. The boot opening button doesn't work on the dash, neither does the TC or alarm button.
2. There appears to be no power to the stereo.
3. The TC/ABS light are on & the speedo doesn't work.

Everything else that i would expect a problem works fine such as power seats, roof, aircon etc....
If any one can shed any light on these probs i'd be grateful.

The car just passed an MOT today, just needed rear brake shoes.

Yes thanks everyone, i've had 3 Volvo T5s in the past, 2 ex police T5s so the only thing that may put me off an Omega in the long run is the lack of power in comparison. But it's early days yet.  :)

Hello, i'm Craig from S.Yorkshire, i recently bought an Omega 2.5V6 Elite, 2001 X reg, needs a bit of Tlc paintwise but overall it looks a decent car, i had to replace the screen, brake shoes, 2 tyres, battery, and it needed a good valet, also had the ABS TC light on but sorted that by changing a fuse, i'm going to use it as a daily runaround and try sell it too as i really wanted an ex police MV6 as new as poss, missed out on an 03 reg last week on ebay.  8-)
