Royal Mail - what time do you get your post?
« on: 10 April 2016, 21:02:59 »

Well, it didn't seem that long ago that the letters would arrive around 7:30 in the morning with some follow up stuff in the second post around midday (turns out when they shut down second post service, it never was an official second post schedule service but more of a sweep up service of stuff that should have gone out earlier on the first one).

So, for me, shortly after some changes, Post was arriving around 9:00am, then around 10:00, to become 11:00 and today nearer the 12:00 mark, then I get gap days, ok so I might not be very popular, but I can get up 2 days or more with no post, then if I actually check any dated letters or the post mark, find its at least 2 days old, hmmm.

Ive also noticed all the local letterbox's have changed to a next collection time 9:00am next day, so if you wanted your precious letter in the system on the same day then get your arse down the Post Office to post it.  :(

So, hows it work for you?  :-\

Anywheres between 10 and 2, unless it's raining, in which case we don't get any... That said, we know when our (ir)regular postie is away as it nearer ten when it arrives. Rain or shine ;D

Havent a clue!! All i know is that when i come home its on the door mat waiting for me

But i do regularly talk to the postman who delivers at work and some of the conditions he has to adhere to are ridiculous like his not allowed to leave the depot until 8am but is expected to get his round done by 1pm with over 250 properties to do. Now imagine if he had to knock for a signatue at each address and still be finished by 1pm

Any time between 9.30am and 3pm here.having said that I've seen posties still doing their rounds in other areas of town at gone 5pm!So I imagine it can depend to some extent on holidays/sick days and such.

No idea.  I'm either at work, or in bed when I've finished a night shift.

Seems to be alternate days, about 10am onwards if they do decide to post, begining to think it may be delivery day if there is a sack fur of post for the area (Rural village - not that that should make a difference)  Just out of shear interest I looked up the popuation for our village and it seems we have a bout 1150/1200 people so not sure how amny households that equates to.

For the price you pay.
you try and deliver a package/letter to an address in middle o nowhere, at a time to suit everybody :-X.

And don't start on about parcel companies', there are areas they won't do, were as royal mail have too,.

Luxury, delivery to door ;D. We collect ours anytime from our own post box in the village centre. Five years ago it used to be a table top for everyone in the village bar. Larger items you have to collect from five miles away between 10 a.m. and 10.30 only.

The Canadians have a similar system which is being improved to universal delivery i.e. every house. Same price too regardless of where you live in Canada. Only 11million poperties to find!
