Omega General Help / Re: haynes manual

Haynes is useful as a refference manual for stuff like settings, wiring diags etc, but a bag of s*it for instruction. ;D

Years ago they used to write good indeapth instructions, now its a poor format for anyone to follow :(

To Mark......that was the cheapest I could find on a Sunday! Hafrauds wanted £82 :o I shall remove the unused pully then, gonna pop out and get the belt this afternoon.

To Matchless.....I work in engineering, we have loads of various pullers at work, I'm in this weekend so I will be seeing which one, if any, are capable of doing the job ;)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'll grab a 2lt belt tomorrow then 8-)

The aircon still works....but the pump is 'whirring' loads......enough to hear it go off down the road some distance and is annoying the fook out of me! Anyway, its the bearing the pulley rides on thats dry and with a little play. I can do it myself at work, but need to get it emptied first, so just looking at how to get by for now as the job of taking it off will have to wait a few weeks first.

Oh and in the process of doing the job I found the water pump was starting to leak so did that too....through the timing cover! Stuck a QH on for £35...not bad for a Sunday!

Oh and the extra pully......my miggy was on of the first ones.....the pulley is more or less up and to the right of the crank pully....smooth and black. Thought maybe it was for use on the belt for non aircon versions. Will find out tomorrow.

Omega General Help / Auxilliary Drive Belt V6
« on: 15 October 2006, 14:38:29 »
Hi guys!

My 'software' is playing up and I can't get to see the auxilliary drive belt pictures.

My aircon pump bearing has failed and I know the v6 has a belt and configuration for 'without' aircon. I have an aditional pully fitted that is for this purpose.

Just need the part numbers and drawings....if anyone can help :y

I have said to this guy that the 25 cant handle the higher power and the box life will be short and you guys have confirmed this now.

He's also reconing that now he's had it fitted for a week he can see an improvement in power and speed....is this possible?

I'm looking forward to when he arrives at work one night on foot and I can gloat and say 'told you so'.......smug look ;)

Omega General Help / A question.....
« on: 29 July 2006, 15:14:32 »
A guy at my work has just fitted an ar25 gearbox to his 3ltr elite.....he recons it dont feel any different, but I would have thought the box wouldn't be up to the job and also thegearbox ecu wouldn't match?

He's not on the net, so I said I'd ask on his behalf, what problems he may be up against?

From the sound of this it may be prudent for me to renew my Autobahnstormers membership then....the one I allowed to lapse after I gave up my Senator owning days ;)

Omega General Help / Re: Genuine or pattern parts?
« on: 13 July 2006, 20:26:56 »
Even though 'Gates' is a reputable make.......when it comes to the elastic band and pulleys, always go for genuine ;)

That comment is made with experience of pattern parts :'(

Omega General Help / Re: Oil leak
« on: 13 July 2006, 15:24:24 »
Possibly what he said, but that would be oil under pump pressure so I would expect to see a good spray at the rear of the bulkhead.....plus often topping up the oil!!

My money would be on possibly the old rocker cover and gasket problem :)

Omega General Help / Re: Memory seats

But I presume you have done this already, and it doesn't work!

Yep have done this......as it says in the owners manual.

I see from the wiring diagrams that the exterior mirrors, interior mirror and seats are all wired through an ecu of some sorts.

As all functions but the memory work, could the fault be with the ecu/memory part?

Omega General Help / Memory seats
« on: 13 July 2006, 13:22:30 »
Right my seats all work ok, but I'm at a loss as how to use the actual memory part??

It seems that I cant save the seat and mirror settings or recall them??

Ideas anyone? Is there a trick to this?
