Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC 2015
« on: 03 May 2011, 17:32:46 »
I have found a NCDC 2015 in a car in the scrapyard... The guy told me that I can take everything what I need.
But that's my question, what do I need to make this headunit working on my car? Do I need to take the CID with the NCDC?

I already have a CID and a NCDC2013 on mine.

Thanks all! :y

Why my NCDC 2013 eject the navi DVD by itself all times?? Always when I start the car (when all is "cold")... Looks like the headunit eject the DVD until it heat a little bit...

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / White LED's in Omega?
« on: 19 October 2010, 18:53:19 »
Anyone here have already done this job? Changing the complete interior lighting with LED's?
(By the complete interior I mean, the aircon panel, the NCDC and the other switchs all arround, steering wheel commands, tacho lamps, power windows commands, headlamps switch, lighter lamp, rear heated seats switches, ......so all!)

I know it's possible but I'm after some "how-to" for all that, I have nothing found about the Facelift Omega.

Here's a pic of an Astra H modified in white-red.
http://www.bluecars.net/product_info.php?cPath=28_91&products_id=553&language=en

I think my Omega would be very nice with a full white interior lighting, in combination with the cream beige leather and the polished wood effect...

Any suggests/helps/opinions?  :P

VDO CDR 2005 - Line-IN

In this description I try to show how to build a Line-In to the VDO CDR 2005 radio from Opel (GM). For this you'll need to disconnect the radio out of your car, open it an do some soldering works. As far as I know if you do this you will not have any guarantee after works.

Ok - let's begin:

1. First of all you have to get the Radio out of the car and open the lower side (bootom):

The red oval marks the connector where the CD-Part of the Radio is connected to the
Radio's MainBoard.

2. In the next Picture you can see where to solder normal flexible wire for left and right channel an ground:

(Sorry blurred picture)

3. The other ends of the wire you connect to a normal "3,5mm jack":

4. Some extra works at the end:

With this method you're using the connectors of the CD-Part of the radio to put in a external Audio-Signal. This means the Radio has to run in CD-Mode so that you can hear your signal. The only way to get this radio into CD-mode is to put in a compact disk and play it. For that I generated a CD with only one track of 74 minutes with only silence on it. This you can do with any Audio-Editor (I used Magix Audio Deluxe 2005). To get your mp3-player running you have to put in the new "Silence-CD", plug your player to the "3,5mm jack"  and press the play button. Every 74 Minutes there will be a small break when the CD begins to play from the beginning. You can use you remote on the steering wheel if you have one to control the radio and it will interrupt if there is traffic information, just as if you played a normal CD.

Hope this will work for you too. I don't give any guarantee that this will work with your radio.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Nokia phone module... Again!
« on: 13 July 2010, 00:51:02 »
Hi all!

I have now a NCDC 2013 with a colour CID screen.
I want to install a Nokia phone module on my car...
I know I have to swap for a NCDC 2015 headunit but I don't know if my car is precabled for all that or not... I have found a genuine GM mic installed on the courtesy lamp with a 2 wires connector plugged. I have also found a 18 pins connector behind the glovebox with the mic wires in it... Is that the right connector for a Nokia module?

Couple of pics...

Thanks for the help!

I listened to the radio today, volume not too loud... and suddenly there was a big "CLACK!" in the speakers that scared me, then no more sound! I have tryed the FM radio, a music CD and the GPS, all worked fine on the screen but no more sound at all... I even restarted the headunit without success...  I thought of a blown fuse... So I parked, locked the car and gone... When I returned, I turned the ignition on, the sound came back and everything is back to normal by itself!!

I don't understand... Any ideas/comments ?
My setup: NCDC 2013 with CID colour screen and Bose sound system.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Connecting Nokia phone kit
« on: 17 March 2010, 11:36:00 »
Hello all!

My radio is the NCDC 2013 and I would be fit the NCDC 2015 with the Nokia phone module (in the glove box). The GM microphone is present in the courtesy light and connected with 2 wires... But it's impossible to find the 32 pins connector and the antenna connector in back the glove box for the module!

How can I do?

Thankx for help!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Replace my GPS
« on: 21 January 2010, 21:24:33 »
Hello all!

If I replace the original GPS with another one, I loose automatically the CID with the board computer? I'm interested for installing a Pioneer AVIC in my car instead my bad NCDC 2013, but I will preserve my board computer (error messages, consumption informations,...).

On my previous facelift 2001, the bord computer commands were on the wiper switch, but now it's the "BC" switch on the GPS!

How can I do?

Thank you all for your help.

Omega General Help / Park Pilot holes in bumper
« on: 26 June 2011, 22:45:45 »
I have some problems with my park pilot system, it's not working anymore! So I want to replace it... Bosch proposes to me the newer model, the URF-7, but the sensors are smaller so I have a problem with the holes drilled on the bumper... No way to find another bumper without holes, it's an Irmscher one!!

But if I find a way to "re-make" the holes properly, I will buy the Meta-system sensors. They looks very nice, with "an internal fitting", like the new BMW's parkpilot.  :y

Any helps to re-make these holes in the same place? A way to do so that the futur paint will not crack due to driving vibrations and little collisions  ::)
Does anyone here has done this job already?

Omega General Help / Flywheel and clutch replacement...
« on: 07 April 2011, 20:35:13 »
Hello all!

I have to replace the clutch because it "sleeps" when I accelerate... My mechanic told me that I have to replace the flywheel too with a complete clutch kit because it's a dual-mass one. Don't know if it's necessary but I thought about a renforced clutch kit because my car is remapped and I don't want to have the same problem 4 months later... My car had 150bhp/310Nm and now have 193bhp/405Nm.

So any suggest are welcome!

Thank you!
