While driving my 3.0 elite 2000 model the battery warning light came on and I lost all my instruments.I assumed it was an alternator failure and changed it,fault still apparent. With ignition switched on I have no lights on dash.I then start engine and have no instruments and the batt warning light on.Car drives normal and shows 14.5 volts at battery when running.Any help grateful . Thanks

Omega General Help / No chip or transponder
« on: 05 September 2013, 23:27:13 »
Hi, just bought a 2L Omega estate with no chip in key and transponder removed.Previous owner said he needed them and I thought I would be breaking car but its too good. The main problem with car is the cylinder head so I have got a replacement.Wil I need a new ecu, transponder and chip? Is the ecu now useless? Any help appreciated, thanks Ged.

Omega General Help / Re: Prefacelift to facelift
« on: 24 November 2010, 23:49:53 »
Hi,Im not into estates but bought the car for £150. Still taxed and tested. The guy I bought it off said the head gasket had gone so he had it done and said it sounded rough and not the same so deci :)ded to sell it for spares.
The master cylinder is missing and he said he had removed the transponder,a bit of the key and the ECU.So I reckon its better to break it,not much call for a 2L estate.Cheers Ged :)

Hi,you should be able to do it just mark everything up and take photos as well.Dont forget to clean the breather pipes while its stripped down, one of mine was completely blocked and probably the cause of gaskets blowing.Good luck.. :)

Omega General Help / Re: EML on all the time
« on: 25 October 2008, 18:53:43 »
My car is a 1995 3.0l elite, not sure how to add it to my profile! I have checked all connections and nothing is trapped under the cam covers.Done paper clip test and got the following codes 14  145 144 82  83  19    I dont think the engine is as smooth running as before and wondering if the firing order is still wrong and causing these fault codes ?Does anyone have a picture of position of HT leads as if you were looking at the DIS through the passenger glove box.Thanks,Ged..

I now have a permanent EML,never had one before work and have checked all connections.Could it be the misfires recorded during ht mix up?How do I get rid of light? Thanks in advance.
