prepared my Mum's 2002 astra for MOT
it's not done 60k yet  ;D
2 tyres with about 6mm of tread replaced due to age / slight cracking  ::)
brakes stripped and cleaned, oil & filter ,air filter, cleaned the TB (not OOFs TB, the Throttle Body  ;D )
polished the headlamps, I have 2 new ones but she don't drive in the dark anyway so did not see the point in swapping them  ;D
cleaned and scraped the rustproofing ,checked and touched up
hopefully get it tested tomorrow

Jeebus, if that's it's regular care regime, that's probably one of the best kept examples going.  :y

I'd do all that as a bare minimum on any car BEFORE MOT
including jacking up all suspension etc to check everything, also check all electrics
I pretty much MOT check and service a car BEFORE i take it for MOT
all the cars get regular checks by me between MOTs too

There are two negatives here.

1. Rick Astley.
2. Driving to Liverpool and expecting to find the wheels still on your car.

Earlier this week, drove it to Portsmouth, and threw it on a boat to Ouistreham.

;D ;D ;D

Wasn't my choice of gig in the slightest, but was actually a bloody good night out!

Car survived just fine
Rick Astley was the support act
Take that was the headline, They were joined by Lulu for 1 song, and by Gerry Marsden at the end for You'll never walk alone which was fantastic.
They all put on a very good show.

As said, not something I'd normally choose to go to / pay to go to.....

In this instance it was with a few colleagues & partners in our corporate box at huge expense to someone, but didn't cost me a penny.  Had a personal waitress and free food and drink all night, so was well worth going to, and as is often the way with these, things, go with low expectations and come out having had a far better time than expected.

well , I picked up Mum's Astra , took it for a spirited stress test drive, 65 mph max honest officer  :P
dropped it in for MOT
passed, no advisories  :)
 now on 59,028 miles
one comment from the NT ,"shame there's a key scratch down the side"
strict aint they ? these MOT blokes  :D
I'm not going to bother doing the scratch ,because some dick will do it again the week after it's painted  :(

sponged some was n wax on the Astra and my Omega ,which is now being rinsed off due to it p155ing it down with rain.
saves getting the hose pipe out  ;D
