Hi,

I am going to be doing some prevenative work on my 2.2 Omega and I really wanted to change the Auto fluid and filter.

I have done several searches and looked through the guides section but I have not been able to find a guide but have seen one mentioned.

I was wondering if anybody has a link to it please?

Also what are the part numbers for the gasket and filter please?

Many thanks,

Joe

Omega General Help / Other Vauxhall Alloys, will they fit?
« on: 09 April 2009, 03:15:39 »
Only 2 days to my first question, not bad!  ;D

I'm assuming that they will be a different offset but if they are is there anyway to correct this?

Thanks,

Joe

Newbie Welcome Area / Just thought I'd say hello!
« on: 07 April 2009, 23:34:05 »
Just thought I'd say hello as I've been too lazy to join this forum since I got my Omega in October.

Its only a 2.0 16v GLS on a T reg but I have been very happy with it so far. Very smooth and great cornering!

I'm not new to Vauxhalls, the Omega is Vauxhall number 24  ;D coincedently the same as my age. Its the longest I've ever kept hold of one so it must be doing something right.

Just got a van for work which I'm using as a daily driver so I might find myslef upgading the Omega to a bigger engine and better spec when I get the cash. Wedding in just over a month so not much chance of that happening soon!  ;D

Might jus modify this one a tad to keep my interest in it!

Anywhoo, cheers for getting this far, I do tend to go on.

Cheers,

Joe

Hi,

I HAVE UPDATED BELOW :)

I bought this Omega a couple of weeks ago.

It is a 2.2 Auto, 2001.

11 Months MOT 5 months TAX

82000

2 Previous Owners

Factory CD player with code, trip computer, heated seats, digital CC the full CD spec.

The bodywork is in really good shape apart from usual stone chips, the alloys are mint with excellent tyres 2 of which are practically brand new.

Interior is practically mint.

In the last 6 months in has had a brand new full exhaust system inc cat, auto clutch plates, battery disks and pads to the front.

It comes fitted with a private plate that the eqivilent ones are ones are on the DVLA website for £599, just search the last 3 digits and it brings them up. There are no cheap varients of this plate, very popular for George or some Greek names!

REG: J40 GEO Would be a Y or 51

The engine runs sweet and pulls changes gears really well.

FIRST £700 TAKES IT :)

Now I am asking for £750 ono for this car so if you take into account the private plate being worth £599 and the road tax thats left £110 if you payed my full asking price then you would be getting the car for £141!

The car is now equivilent to £90!  :D

There is a reason the car is such a bargain, the EM  and airbag light is on, there is a judder when pulling off (could just need new trans oil and filter) It's leaking water, looks like its the heater matrix hoses at the rear of the engine bay. It is worth mentioning that it DOES NOT OVERHEAT AND  RUNS AT NORMAL TEMP! It also has not been allowed to run out of water. There is no oilwater or water oil mixing.

It's worth mentioning it drives fine and can be driven no problem!

I simply do not have the time to sort the problems so I need rid, me and the Mrs are going on our hols in a couple of weeks and need to free up the cash.

Absolute bargain for someone, weigh in the tax and private plate and break for parts or fix and flog the plate and you will make a lot of money, I just do not have the cash, space or time to do anything with this.

My loss your again!

Pics to follow!

CD Player, Electric seats, PAS, ABS, Elec windows, Elec mirrors, Steering wheel remote, Single electrics towbar, alloys x 4 with cracking tyres.

ICE cold air con, gonna be great for the summer!

Manual transmission.

The guy I bought it off really looked after it and owned it for 4 years.

Items renewed.....

Cambelt,Tensioners and water pump 15k Ago
Front discs and pads
Dis pack, Plug leads and spark plugs
Front suspension wishbones
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Above 4 15K ago

New downpipe and Cataltic convertor (Life time warranty)
2 Goodyear Energy Tyres fitted to rear wheels
Air filter
Oil filter and Oil change
Pollen filter
ICV Cleaned and a spare included with the sale
^^^^^^^^^^^^Above 6 done by myself in the last 1000 Miles.

2 Months MOT
2.5 Months TAX
Mileage is currently 160,000 ish

Car drives excellent

40+ MPG on a run

Bodywork is as you would expect for age of car, with usual car park dings. Has some rust bubbles but you cannot see unless you look for them. Purley cosmetic, some touched up areas again not highly visable. Still a very nice looking car for its age!

All in all a nice looking, Reliable Omega.

I am very reluctant to sell as this car drives like its got 60k on it, smooth as anything and with the work done recently has many more miles to go without any expense.

It needs the exhaust mating properly as when I done the downpipes and cat, both pipes are fine just needs the join lining up properly, just havn't got the time. Just the downpipes to backbox join, SLIGHT blow! Gum Gum would hide it for MOT, Just being honest!

Interior could do with a good clean, been used as a work car.

cannot see anything else it would need for MOT, but you've got 2 months cheap motoring to check it over.

Thanks for looking
