Donated an armful of blood for the 24th time on Friday. A personable full-breasted wench extracted 470 ML of my 'lifeforce' in just five minutes and forty eight seconds. Fifteen minutes and a cup of hot chocolate later I was firing up the mighty Signum to take me home in style. :)
Here's the thing that few people are aware of.........to show how much they appreciate the sacrifice the blood service present each 'victim' with a posh new car or luxury home following their 25th donation.
This is why Andy Beanz and Jimbob and others here at OOF drive posh motor cars. :)
I shall post a picture of my new Bugatti Chiron when I donate again in March. :)

I reached over 15 donations of blood, until they decided my blood was not good enough due to me being a diabetic!! :'( :'( ;)
So no goodies for me! :'( :'( ;D ;D

15 donations is impressive for a mere girlie, Lizzie.... :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
There is a long list of ailments and conditions why people can't donate.
As far as I'm aware if you are a man and 'take it up the arse' you are not allowed to donate.......
-
I take it you mean 'Next' and not 'New'. ::)

Yes.
I'm quite elderly so 'senior moments' are more frequent........as you know so well yourself. :)

Tenty five donations, that would be an armful?

No, Tony Hancock reckoned just one blood test was an armful ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I seem to recall June Whitfield was the nurse.

Apparently 470ml is roughly the same blood loss as being shot in some ridiculous postcode dispute in London, by our coloured brothers. ::)

I should have said shot or stabbed.
I want to appear even-handed. ::)

Yes other methods of blood letting are available. :y

I've had so many diseases, they don't want mine. :(

Presumably this is the fallout from luring too many undesirable ladies into the Marina.
Galloping knob rot can be very hard to cure. :)

Nah, a quick dose of penicillin sorts that, but super galloping knob rot is a different matter though... :( Fortunately I've never encountered either. :y
Malaria at least twice has put paid to me getting a luxury car or a house in Monaco courtesy of the National Blood Transfusion Service. ::)

Actually, thinking more about it, I now remember that it was after the blood test that Tony, upon being told they wanted to take a pint of blood, he retorted with something like "that is an armful!" ;D ;D ;D
So funny then, and I think it was when the great Sid James was with him. :y :y

I managed 29 before i had to go on blood pressure pills. That brought my giving to a shuddering halt. Still waiting for my supercar Opti. ;)

Be persistent, Mr Ronny.
There is an Italian hypercar with your name on it. :y

You'd think a bit of bloodletting would reduce your blood pressure. :-\ ::) :)

I gave my 70th last week :y :y :)
Now that is an impressive statistic. :y
Presumably you are never low on iron with all the free beanz Heinz give you. ;)
I like the way they can tell you where your 'armful' was used by text. :y

I’m on my fifth donation. First four were great. Blood out quickly. Eat all the biscuits and then go home. Last time I don’t know what happened but I sat down and the guy serving the tea and biscuits (who i believe is there to monitor people) kept saying to me: Steve... Steve... Steve. Next thing I know I’m coming round in an upside down chair :-[

I've seen a few people faint. All have been men of the hairy-arsed builder variety. The girls seem to cope better.
My guess is dehydration in your case.

Last time I gave blood was years ago, with a bunch of mates and the cocky fella fainted! ;D
After tea and biscuits we repaired to the nearest pub to do some research into whether we got pissed quicker with less blood in us! :)

it's been a while for me, but for a long time I thought they were taking twice as much from me as anyone else, as I was there far longer. Apparently I'm a slow bleeder, which isn't the normal adjective ;D

If they can't get a full 'armful' (470ml) in 15 minutes, they stop.
I take 4 to 6 minutes on average.

Maureen my late partner was gutted when shortly before she was due to give her 25th she was prescribed aspirin for Angina and so was barred from donating anymore.
