'58 plate 1.8 Vectra C Spanner Light on. Engine is Z18XER 16v 140 bhp, done 105k
Had Cambelt Kit, WP, Thermostat, Coolant and Aux Belt changed by now bust main dealer, (price matching is wonderful 8) ), at 99k.
Spanner light been on and off, mostly on, for last 3k.
Only stored code is 0011 :-\, summat to do with the variable timing? Best I could find with google ::)
Could this be due to it being 5k past its usual 10k oil change? Only ever had VX 5w30 put in it. Or is summat else amis :-\
TIA, Al :y

Pop the phaser valves out and clean the wire gauzes and valves, the inlet one is the one more prone to gooing up (no idea why!)
Exhaust one is a little more tricky to get at!

Infact there is a bulletin:
Reference Information / Bulletin Number
10-06-04-016
Model Year
2008-2011
Vehicle Line / Condition
Engine lack of power with DTCs P0011, P0014, P000A, P000B, P0012, P0015 or engine rattle noise
Do This
Remove the oil filters from the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves
Don't Do This
Don't replace the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves
Remove the inlet solenoid, plug the hole to stop excess oil spillage.
Remove the 2 orange filter bands and the black end cap filter from solenoid.
Refit solenoid
Same for exhaust solenoid if necessary.
Although I prefer to keep the gauzes!

Much obliged Mark :y
Have found the valves on the IPC, car not in front of me at mo, are they easily accessible?

Inlet not to bad, the exhaust a little more challenging!
As said, do the inlet one first as they seem to be the ones most prone to clogging.

Job for Sunday night then...
Going to be busy me thinks, 3 Vectras to service including this one, which is also getting droplinks ready for its MoT and council inspection in a couple of weeks ::)
Take it carb cleaner will suffice for cleaning the valves/gauze :-\

Yep

Not too bad a job in the end :y Spanner light still on though. Will it sort itself out or does it need plugging in to clear? Only code showing is still 0011 :-\
