Probably makes my E430 feel quite slow .. wouldn't mind the wheels off it for mine though 😎

Steering wheel on wrong side
And will need weather proofing underneath..

The AMG fettling gives it another 100cc per cylinder along with a 50bhp increase over the stock 326 bhp. Same engine as the SL60 ;)

At least it looks a little bit less like a Taxi.
Only a little bit, though.

That engine is very tightly packed in there :o :o

6 grand for a 16 year old Merc, built in time when they were heavy into penny pinching. :-\
Lot of car, but suspect a lot of bills and lot of DIY time. :(

Looks a doddle to work on ::).
Also, is that the ECU sat roasting gently on top of the V? :o
-
None of the three of you are old enough to feel nostalgic for when engine bays were the size of a small house and contained nothing but an asthmatic A series.. :P ;D

Yep.....trade in the chicken chaser. :y

Not actually that bad, most of the sides is air intake, everything else sits in the V :y
The M120 lump is less problematic and a touch easier to work on, if only because it doesn't have the turbos...

Oh..I miss my triumph herald. Lift the whole front of the car to reveal........an engine of similar size (and power) to a singer sewing machine.

The 2 litre Vitesse went quite well in the same body. :y

It was £115 grand new, has a V12 engine and over 500bhp. If it went wrong after a while and you had to sell it at a loss, you wold still have the memories for ever. :D

The old CLK that I'm driving now cost 47k new back in 2002,worth bugger all now but still a lovely car :y

Mine stands me £4500 has cost nothing in repairs over 3 years , had two new rear tyres & 3 oil changes so owes me nowt as far as I am concerned, and is a complete joy to drive, purchase price in January 2000 was just over £55,000, so let someone else take the big hit is my advice.
