;D ;D ;D

Seriously, just to add to what James has said, whilst we may not always agree on everything all the time, we are mates.

I know - after the Rover HG replacement ect!

So what is happening to the MV6 then?
Yup, that was the first time I ever met him, and immediately got on very well with him, we had a giggle and got the job done.  As said, good friends since that long day in January.

I think my badly worded PM (done in a hurry as I have been far too busy lately) just caught James at a time had other issues, and for that I publically and humbly apologise unreservedly to James.

Hi Guys,

I don't particularly want to start this discussion off again.

For reasons personal for me I decided to try and slope off.. but going by the overwhelming amount of emails and calls I recieved, that's clearly not allowed!

The only one thing I do want to now re-iterate on the back of this thread, is that there are absolutely no tensions between Jaime and myself. We always have and always will be very good friends and that's not set to change.

Coming to the Wales meet then?

If I can get the time off, then I'm most likely going to be at Tunnies place, changing heads and gearboxes.

I would love to come along though.. maybe head off friday night, car reassembled on Saturday, and then over for a pissup Saturday evening......
I've suggested Tunnie removes head tomorrow, as it has been driven to Brum with fails HG, so gut feeling is it needs machining....

Hope you can make Wales, we can have a beer or several :y

Oh Jaime!!!!!

Go to the back of the class and bow your head in shame! >:(
:'(

That was certainly not my intention, though relooking at my sent posts, the wording could have been a bit more verbose, as it may have sounded a bit terse  :-[ - I was hurrying, as I was so far behind...

I think it would be best all round if you were to post up exactly what you sent to James. Then we could all slag you off have a sympathetic look ::)
Private messages are just that. Private.

Feel free to slag me off, if it is my fault, I deserve it.

Write once read twice.

PMs and Emails are to instant - there are occasions for letters still today!
You've had more than one PM from me, so hopefully can confirm that I normally do word stuff in a certain way, and the tone is usually friendly.

In this case, I was in too much of a rush, and having reread it this morning, I'm not happy with it.  Still, I hope JamesV6CDX knows me better than that to think that my comments were not any kind of moan at him, just a friendly reminder about certain things.

If it was my PM, thats between me and James to sort out ourselves. I am not going to get into any further discussion about this until I know the details.

Errr   ::)

James, if you are reading this, if it was my PM that caused this, you have taken it the wrong way, and you know me better than to think I was having a go, I was just asking you to abide by some guidelines (again ;)) for the good of the forum  :-/

Lovely part of the world.  A really nice walk along old railway line from Matlock to Buxton as well (gets a bit difficult where you have to walk along river, esp if your woman is not wearing sensible walking boots!)

look, it is bad enough that SWMBO has decided against all my advise to keep the CDX Estate another year. But another one? NOT ON YER NELLY!
At least she has some sense  :P

Went to Matlock and the surrounding area today. Stumbled on a sewage treatment plant, but that was on the way to the workshops near the matlock old railway. Then, a trip around the back doubles taking in some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Spent £10.20 on 1 fish and chips, 1 pie and chips, i bag of chips, 2 cans of Vimto and 1 lilt.

Took the dog with us and he actually behaved. Hardly barked at other dogs, even the one with 'dangle berries' bigger than footballs that stood next to us whilst we were eating. I seemed to get a twitch in my leg just then and the big dog decided to leave - quickly! ;D

Anyway, enjoyed the day out. Unfortunately, I fogot my stick and came back ever so slightly in pain. Doubl;e dose of painkillers tonight and I am off to bed.

I also bought another laptop because I got bored.
to scour ebay for more Omegas?

That's useful information, Jaime. I've been thinking about how to keep my boss connected a little more seamlessly (and less expensively) than he is at the moment. He keeps sloping off to Spain, you see ::).

A box that he can simply take over there and plug into his broadband connection (assuming VOIP is not blocked by his provider) would be a very neat solution.

Kevin
Yup, may need some initial router config down in Spain (f/w, nat forwarding (though most routers have an alg for SIP now, so may just work)).

As said, the downside is it is very sensitive to bandwidth, so you need a line that does not get too busy. Try with a softphone first, and see what results are like....

Not a fan of Skype for a number of reasons, mostly around costs if you want a proper number, and the fact that it needs PC on.

I personally use a SIP based solution, with a hardware SIP to PSTN adapter.

The provider I currently use is sipgate.co.uk (coz its free to sign up, and you get a geographic number), and a Linksys PAP2 adapter so I can plug in normal phone (or phone system in my case).  Visiting anyone for a few days? Just take the PAP2 and plug into their broadband (adjusting firewall if necessary) ;)

SIP, though, like most proper VOIP protocols, is time dependent, so if your broadband is being thrashed, you can get dropouts, bit like mobile phones in weak areas.

Its free, I suggest anyone try it (with software 'phone'), if it doesn't work for you, then nothing lost...

The dual fuel bit and recond head will push the value up - you could run it for a year and save the purchase price
Not sure about that  :-?

I'm saving £70 a month - that is £840 a year
Yeah, i'm seeing the figures ok. But I think when they get to that sort of mileage they are not really worth that much more, especially on a base 1.8 engine.

The only thing that looks in favour is that the car is only a 2001 so not that old. I would be tempted to put some alloys on it though just to brighten it up a bit, might help clinch a potential sale? What are the tyres like? The interior tatty?

Tyres all well above legal - rears will both be new tomorrow. I'm bidding on some genuine VX wheel trims. I don't want to alter it from factory spec, as it puts people off when it comes to insurance.

Interior is mint, exterior is very very tidy.

I saw a S reg Veccy LPG with CAMBELT FAILURE go on fleabay for over £700 not long ago!

ah, but its your mileage thats the killer I'm afraid - thats an awful lot anyway, moreso on a 1.8
