I have the Lidl/Aldi version (which looks identical)
They're OK if you are happy to grow old while waiting for the oil to go in or out... (they are slow with a capital SLOW)

I too have the Lidl one, cost £12 IIRC.
Only used it once - on the Jag - and it emptied that in about 5mins from what I remember (though I had warmed the engine up nicely).
The Jag has a proper extraction tube, which I assume means it will get virtually all of it out. I doubt it would be easy to get all the oil out of a normal engine via dipstick tube with my Lidl variant, as the tube is a bit flimsy and crap, and probably wouldn't reliably sit at bottom of sump.

AA - if you do go down that route, Clarke are just rebadged Chinese stuff out of the same Chinese factories as most no-name brands (and Sealey ;)). Machine Mart are pretty expensive for stuff, though their aftersales are pretty good (as long as you live near the store you bought it from, or mail ordered it).

If you remember when we tried to get the fan off your diesel elite, I live fairly close to a MM outlet :)

I remember only too well. We'd simply change the pump, and all would be well with the car ;D
Still, I learnt a lot about the TD...

But not all cars have a sump plug ;) which is why I have a Pela for my Smart :y

As the Shag has a sump plug, as well as the dedicated, built in sucky sucky tube, I'd like to drain properly.
But the fikkin' undertrays are a PITA to get off, due to 50 million screws.

Hence the use of a Pela :y
On one occasion I removed the oil from the Smart using the Pela before I removed the sump pan, there was next to nothing left in there. ;)

AA - as I had my pump out yesterday, I took the opportunity to compare to the MM one, and it is absolutely identical :y. Obviously, the Lidl one was a 1/3rd of the price, but who knows when they will next have them.
I found the key is to have the engine oil really hot - ie, straight after a drive, else it can take 15-20mins to suck it out.

I did take it for a drive first, took about 5 minutes to pump 4.5 ltrs out.
I've been paying the local garage £25 a shot to change the oil (I provide the oil and filter) so it's nearly paid for itself.
I can't crawl under cars anymore :(
I missed the Lidl one, unfortunately :(
