Face lift Roof aerial gasket
« on: 27 November 2019, 08:34:01 »

Please can anyone help me to source a new roof aerial gasket for my 2001 Omega, it is a rounded rectangular shaped base not the elliptical one that was fitted to the earlier cars and Lotus Carlton.
Mine is very perished and I'd like to prevent a leak into the car and headlining if possible.  And before anyone suggests squirting a load of black mastic around it, that is very much a last resort, especially as it is at eye level and the rest of the car is quite tidy.  Even if someone has a spare aerial base that I can use as a template to model something from for 3d printing, that might be helpful. Thanks.

true, but a neat job is just as much work as fitting the new, £3 gasket.

Thanks, I don't suppose you've got a link, item number or can tell me what words you used to search for it? I have looked and nothing comes up.

It all depends which antenna its for.

That ebay gasket won't fit a Nav aerial base on NCDC head unit cars.

Thanks, mine is more rectangular like this item number 273673042643, but Omega is not listed under the applications so I am not certain it is the same, and mine looks to have squarer corners.

Call me tight, but for £8.49 + £6.90 postage from Poland it needs to be right, and I don't have a Zafira to put it on if it's not.

On closer inspection it looks as though the Zafira one wih GPS is correct, what do you think?  I could also do with a new stubby screw on antenna, but have substituted some shrinkwrap over the core for now.

The Zaf one looks right to me - based on the pictures and the vague recollection of what mine looked like when I took it off (to fix it)

Cheers,  I'll go for it when funds allow, and if they offer me a postage discount, because there are a couple of other bits in their shop which look interesting and if anyone else wants one I am happy to share postage costs for a few more?

I put on one of these instead.

You need to get new cables to it since the original cables has connectors that are not standard. They come in different versions with Radio/GPS/Phone combinations. The one I got has Radio/GPS
