Great pics as always James. :y Good to see the usual bums sticking out of bonnets and legs from under cars. ;D
......and did I actually see a pic of Jaime behind the BBQ actually cooking?!! ::) Was going to try and get there on Saturday and stay 1 night but something cropped up that I couldn't really get out of. Hopefully a good time was had by all and will endeavour to make it next year. :y

Oh dear, such sad sad news.  :'(
I really hoped for some kind of miracle that he might pull through this but it wasn't to be.
My sincerest condolences to Jane and family
Bob and Jan

I know I don't get on here much these days, but James just told me about this awful news via Facebook. Me and Jan kind of took Paul and Jane under our wing on their very first Omega meet at Newent a few years ago, as they had never been to a car meet before and didn't really know anyone. We became extremely good friends from that weekend onwards and Paul invited me to his home in Kent a couple of times, although we were unable to make it, but that's the kind of guy he is. I just hope and pray that by some miracle he can pull through this and my thoughts are with with Jane and his family.

All the best Bob. Don't become a stranger.  Still need that night out!

Cheers James - it will happen, just a case of when. ;)

And yes, it's been some time since I was on here!! Hi all, hope everyone is all well and good heading in to the festive season.
Sorry I haven't been on the forum for ages but it just seems different not being an Omega owner any longer. It's also been a very difficult year for me as the company I work for went into administration in July and we were then bought by a new owner and restarted again, but it's been hellish! Anyway, thought I'd drop in and say a quick hello and wish you all a very merry Christmas and prosperous New Year. Will drop in from time to time and until then, hope to catch up with a few of you guys at one of the meets next year.
Hope you're all behaving!  ::)
Cheers all
Bob :y

41!!!!!! You're still a youngster! ::)
I went to the gym twice a week up until I was in my early fifties but had to give it up due to the onset of arthritis that made it difficult to continue. So then started swimming a couple of times week doing around 80 lengths per session and that keeps you almost as fit as going to the gym and I enjoy it, although haven't done so much this year. I do however still enjoy a smoke and a few beers - after all, you've got to have a few luxuries. ;)
I think most blokes go through a bit of a mid-life crisis when hitting their 40's or 50's but you soon learn to accept the fact that you can't party like a teenager any longer or have the stamina of an athlete. ::)

Great pics as usual James. :y
So sorry I couldn't get to this one.......first one I've missed since Newent meets started!! :'( Had far too many family functions (weddings, christenings, get togethers etc.) just recently and just don't seem to get many free weekends.
Was good to see Jaime taking over my mantle of OOF chef (well in one of the pics anyway) but that probably meant he ate more burgers and sausages than he actually gave out! ::) ;D Looks like the weather was pretty good too. :y
Oh yes James........what on earth is that abomination attached to the roof of my beloved ex-Omega?!! ::)

Always had a soft spot for Williams since Mansell's days with them, but always support our home grown talent so it has to be McLaren with Jenson and Lewis. :y Also been closely following Paul di Resta progress since he was in DTM - if he gets a decent drive I think he could be up there with the top guys. However, I think Alonso and Vettel are probably two of the best drivers out there at the moment.

Been quite a few times as only around 35min drive from me. Airshows there are usually brilliant but it's a good day out even if there's not one on. Plenty to do and see. :y

Lots of losers in these circumstances .... glad you kept a job when others did not, but there are more losers than just them ... all the firms owed money by the "failed" firm that just wipes its debts and restarts ... how many of them will have to lay off workers as well ??? or small family firms that may actually close ??

IMHO firms that fail should NOT just be allowed to restart under a new owner/name with all the debts just wiped away, someone, somewhere is paying for that ... :(

Our stuation is a little different Nige as we are in CVA (controlled voluntary administration). All our suppliers have all been paid up to date, it's HMRC that haven't. It's all a bit complex to explain in a post on here, so I'll not bore you all by attempting to. ;)

Oh of that age is top of its range, not sure if they did the Ghia X on the first shape ones.

Don't expect it to be massively better on fuel, its still a 2.0, would expect mid 30's average out of it.

Not necessarily Mark, I get an average of around 46mpg from my 2002 2.0TDCI Mondeo. :y.....mind you, it is diesel!

As some of you may have read from one of my previous posts, the company I work for is in administration. Well, the good new is that I still have a job when we restart the business under a new owner, but it's been a really sad day saying goodbye to some of my colleagues that I've worked with for over 20 years that didn't escape the chop. :'(

A real shame. :( I remember he played some great roles in some of the old westerns and he was brilliant in Flight of the Phoenix and so many more.
