Just like to say thanks to tigers_gonads for his help, I now have a much better key fob than I had before, it even still has the little symbols on the rubber buttons!

So now I have a fully working fob.  I've even discovered how to close the windows and sunroof from the fob too (press and hold the close button), and how to deadlock the doors (press close button once to lock doors, and again to deadlock).

Happy days!  ;D
Excellent, all you got to do now is work out how to get back in.  ;)

you can buy from eBay / aliexpress for a couple of pounds, but you might need to sand / file the edges (refinishing) to get the fit perfect.

If it helps, I can recommend this guy on fleabay..

having just had one of my keys re-built.  Just sent the whole thing in an envelope and it came back within a week and worked straight off the bat.  Not as cheap as doing it yourself obviously but was simple and quick.

Or buy the cover from him for £3 and spend 5 minutes swapping the parts over yourself.  ;)

True, but I tried that once years ago and there seemed to be too many (3 button) versions so I took the lazy route this time!

Update: the fob has come away from the shaft bit a couple of times as I take the key out of the ignition but hopefully just needs a bit of force to get them to stay together.  ???
