General Car Chat / Re: enough
« on: 29 November 2015, 12:23:09 »
in my opinion Valhalls are allays expensive to maintaine and easy to break. for some reason.
i spended loads in my omega and other vauxhals before.
regular maintaining, oilchanges, etc and still there came the time something major broke.

other cars i had before at least being thanksfull for a long time giving them some replacements parts.

also every car and we talking big cars as i would'nt go for something 1.6 or small in size, always gave me the money back to an extend i paid for it out.

the vauxhalls always seemed to be a loosing thing.

i do like the frontera but after all my experience on vauxhal i don't go for it now.

same as i would'nt go for mercedes and bmw as i have the same experience.

well space wise, its a ford galaxy now. defo bigger.
not sure f i stick to it.
not as comfy as expected. dont like the high seat position. lol

but the space is nice.
towing no problem.
all the elctrics like the omega and all works. parts very cheap.
but thinking of not doing anything on it just drive and sell on for a newer modell next year.

well, the omega 2.5 v6 auto estate is gone.
after spending all in all in 2 years 2k in it i decided to sell it because i needed a bigger car.
result nobody wanted it.
fact after standing up hill for 5 month not able to sell it after all work was done, for 500 quit i drove it out the garden, got it ready to bring it to an auction.
the engine seized after 3 miles.
what a luck.
4rd vauxhall third time a vehicle which cost more then enough and pack up anyway.

spendet another 40 to investigate and made my mind up.

scpped it. simple.

not one car in the last 15 years waas such a money pit.
and i talking loads of cars.
rovers, fords, pajeros, audis, bmws, volvos, even peugeots.

well gone now. and i dont thunk i buying another vauxhall again.lol  >:(

the old starter is out now.
looks like the mother of all omega starters.
aparently to my garage its the original one. 2000 reg. 135k.
the running cut off was down to no petrol. coouter tells 32 miles in it tank is dry. pump couldnt get any fuell.

and, there two types of starter for my omega. i let the garage now deal with it.
to windy. to old. yo wet for me.
so once is running getting sold.

out of 3 vauxhalls all made me major problems and costed too much for only being a car.
its a nice car but not worth the spending.

going back to ford now.
sorry but more reliable on high mileage and cheaper to fix and maintain.

thanks for all the help guys.

right. tried a leisure batterie with 950 ah, trying to turn but not enough to start.
tried a 750 ah batterie fully charged. trying to turn but not enough to turn mire then half a turn i guess. you can her th attempt to turn but is not turning the starter motor to start the bloody car.

it is not only clicking anymore, its actually triyng to turn the starter over now !!!

put also 10 litre fuel in it. just to make sure its enough to start.

finish with my mechanical skills. especially if i don't need it and now it seem i don't want it anymore.
i don't have the time the temperature and the will to dismantle the whole car to get it running.( and spending over 1 k in it in one year it seems its just a moneypit, as my other vauxhalls before )

i was hoping somthing easy to solve without buying oarts where  i loose out big times again on it.

cant even locate the bloody startermotor.
looks on some pics i found as a 5 days job to go on it to give it a wack with a sledgehammer. lol

Omega General Help / starting problems , cut out while driving
« on: 14 November 2015, 19:18:40 »
guys, my omega, which was standing for the last 6 month had a couple times a nearly empty batterie, recharged and started, it would start and run for a long time even restart all over again for some days.
now i charged last time the batterie last tuesday, started and run.
i filled 5 litre petrol in as it was on 20 miles left according board computer. ( extented to 48 miles )
took it out for little ride today ( aorund 8 miles to Petrol Station which i never came too ), and even it showed 30 miles remaining petrol it cut out, and wouldn't start again.
just clicking. no turn on the startermotor.
got new batterie and tried again. no starter motor noise. just clicking.
no messages on computer, and no warning lights came on prior to cut out.

now i am thinking of startermotor, but why would it cut out while driving?
Batterie, possible, but why is nothing happend apart from the clicking noise with a new batterie ?
petrol ? maybe the computer is lying and its out of fuel ? but again, why is the startermotor not engaging ?

its a cdx 2000 reg  2.5 v6 automatic.

any help out there in the omega world to solve this issue ?

Thank you

Thanks.
is on ebay now but it gets frustrating spending so much in it as i wanted to keep it for another couple years.
but needs came first therefore im owner of a galaxy now.
not the same , slower, not the gadgets leather etc but the space i needed.

hopefully someone will have him and appreciate what it is and how it looks.
there loads newer car in my street and they look a lot worse for being just 4 to 6 years old.

right as no one is slightly interested in it, no rspond on ebay to the value, and im asking for near to nothing for what i spend in it to get everything working looks like i just park it up in the garden and maybe use it in a year or so, or maybe of i need a spare car.

maybe even breaking the bastard and what i cant sell for oney is going in the crusher.
9 not interested giving it for 400 to the scrapyard and they make double out of it. lol

any interest on parts or is the omega a money pit these days ?
